5. ๏ Global worming has increased the demand and request for
green energy produced by renewal sources as solar power.
๏ Solar energy has been the power supply of choice for industrial
application where power is required at remote locations.
๏ Solar tracking is increasingly applied as a effective power
generation.
Need for Sun Tracking System
6. โข A solar tracker is a device
used for orienting a solar
photovoltaic panel or lens
towards the sun by using the
solar or light sensors
connected with the machine
WHAT IS SOLAR TRACKER?
7. 1. Single Axis tracker:
Single axis trackers Single axis solar
trackers can either have a horizontal or a
vertical axle.
2. Dual Axis tracker
Double axis solar trackers have both a
horizontal and vertical axis
It can track the Sun's apparent motion
exactly anywhere in the world
Types of Tracker System
9. BASIC COMPONENTS
1. The Solar Panel:
A solar cell panel, solar electric panel, photo-voltaic module or just solar panel
is an assembly of photo voltaic cells mounted in a framework for installation.
Solar panels use sunlight as a source of energy to generate direct current
electricity
2. Stepper Motor
A stepper motor, also known as step motor or stepping motor, is a brushless
DC electricmotor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps.
10. 3. Actuator
An actuator is a device that produces a motion by converting energy and
signals going into the system.
4. A Display Unit
A display device is an output device for presentation of information in
[1] or tactile form (the latter used for example in tactile electronic displays
for blind people).
[2] When the input information that is supplied has an electrical signal the
display is called an electronic display.
11. 5. Interfacing Cables
A hardware interface is used to connect two or more electronic devices
together. The printer itself also has a USB interface, which is where the
other end of the USB cable connects. Several common peripherals connect
to a computer via USB, while other devices use a Firewire connection or
other interface.
6. Microcontroller
A microcontroller (MCU for microcontroller unit) is small computer on a
single metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS) integrated circuit (IC) chip. A
microcontroller contains one or more CPUs (processor cores) along with
memory and programmable input/output peripherals.
12. 7. LDR
An LDR is a component that has a (variable) resistance that changes with
the light intensity that falls upon it. This allows them to be used in light
sensing circuits.... They can be described by a variety of names from light
dependent resistor, LDR, photoresistor, or even photo cell, photocell or
photoconductor.

Working of Solar Tracker
15. Advantages
1. Simple
2. Low cost
3. Ecofriendly
4. We can monitor directly using PC
5. Tracking accuracy is more
6. Reduced the usage of power
Expected outcomes
16. Dis-Advantages
1. Solar electricity is not available at night and is less available in cloudy
weather condition therefore a storage or complementary power system
is required
2. Limited power density
3. Solar cells produce DC which must be converted to AC when used in
currently existing distribution grids
17. Conclusion
1. On one hand we can see the worlds energy resources depletion to be a
major problem.
2. On the other hand global warming, which is a major concern.
3. Switching to solar power, which is clean and green and enhancing its
efficiency by using sun trackers is a great option in the near future.
4. Improve the utilization rate of solar energy and efficiency of
photovoltaic power generation system
