2. Vishudha
Vishuddha chakra governs communication,
expression, creativity, and listening. The throat chakra
is the bridge between the heart and mind. When this
center is open there is a resonance between what we
feel and what we think. Someone with a healthy
vishudha exhibits both an ability to clearly speak and
to listen. They are able to bring their own unique
creativity to what they say and do.
3. Vishudha
Developmentally, this center
correlates with Erikson's stage of
Identity versus Role-confusion.
During adolescence this center is
prominent as growing children are
trying to individuate and find out who
they are.
4. Vishudha
This center becomes imbalanced through being
harshly criticized, fear of speaking up due to
authoritarianism in a family or society, lies, and a
splitting between what we feel and what we think.
In an excessive state vishuddha chakra results in
excessive talking combined with an inability to truly
listen, as well as gossiping, lying, and using the
voice to dominate an environment. In a deficient
condition vishuddha chakra results in a weak and
timid voice, a difficulty expressing oneself,
excessive introversion and shyness.
5. Vishudha
The transpersonal possibility of
vishuddha chakra is clairaudience,
which is the ability to hear that which
exists beyond the ordinary senses as
for example angels, spirits, spiritual
guides or any sounds beyond what
the ordinary senses can pick up.
6. Vishudha Affirmation: I am able to speak my truth with
ease. I am comfortable with silence.

throat chakra.
