Impact on the Community Message from Guy Parizeau, President, and
Juliana Rodger, Acting Executive Officer
Causeway Foundation is grateful to have successfully completed another
year of fundraising on behalf of Causeway Work Centre. The programs
at Causeway have a powerful impact on the lives of people experiencing
difficulty finding or maintaining employment because of a mental health
issue or a disability. Moving forward, we turn our focus toward meeting
the increasing demand for our programs and services.
The work our donors support is incredibly important. Together we are
building an economically sustainable and inclusive community, where
everyone feels welcome. I would like to sincerely thank the Board of
Directors, our Fundraising Committee, and our caring supporters for
their commitment to mental health.

Your Support Matters
Adrianna dropped out of high
school at age 16, but the birth of
her daughter at age 18 prompted
her to return. “I decided it was
time to get my life together for
the both of us,” she says.
After completing high school,
however, Adrianna developed a
drug addiction. She spent 3
months in treatment, where she
was diagnosed with PTSD from
traumas inflicted in her young life.
Adrianna turned to Causeway for
help finding a job. She was placed
in the Solutions for Youth
program, which helps youth with mental illness develop skills to
get a job or return to school.
Adrianna has excelled over the course of her placement, doing
meal preparation at the Parkdale Food Centre. “We barely even
have to train her. We show her things once – she’s a natural in
the kitchen,” says Adrianna’s supervisor.
“I just want to say thank you to every single person that has
made Solutions for Youth possible,” says Adrianna. “I think
this program is such an incredible opportunity.”
