5. Why Squiggle Park works for me.
"I am a part of a successful district with high performing students but I
have a few in my class who were struggling with reading. I decided to
double the time these students played Squiggle Park and over the
course of five weeks, they have been able to catch up to the strong
readers. We are thrilled with this progress and love Squiggle Park."
7. STEP 1:
The class is signed up in less than 5
minutes.
The Squiggle Park app is downloaded onto
class iPads or bookmarked on computers.
Squiggle Park is added as a station in our
station rotation for 30 minutes a week.
The students play independently and
collaboratively building their reading skills as
they play.
Engagement from Squiggle Park opens time
for more small group and individual
instruction.
8. STEP 2:
Data collected from game play is available to
track each individual student progress as well
as class progress.
Specific gaps are identified and lesson plans
focused on those gaps are available.
Progress can be reviewed real-time anytime!
9. STEP 3:
Reporting gives a picture of the class
progress to be used in school PD planning
allowing administrators to invest in
professional development that meets the
specific needs of each teacher.
11. ● Data shows trends of whole class and by individual student
● Understanding gaps helps narrow focus during a guided reading lesson
● Helps our teaching assistant get to know your students quickly
● Provides you with individual data for an IEP or parent conference
21. In regards to the pedagogy paper: Wow! This
document is very interesting and very well written.
I am so excited now to be using Squiggle Park.
