Oil Industry Field Engineer, Odessa Texas, USA June-2011 to Present
Work for an oilfield services company in the West Texas region on the Permian Basin
area where well stimulation jobs (vertical and horizontal) are performed via specialized
pumps to fracture rock sediments in geological formations at different depths under
high pressures and rates to create vein conduit systems in order to deliver hydraulic
fracturing fluids with chemical additives and proppant sands that maintain the vein
conduits open which allows trapped oil and gas to be recovered from formations and
migrate in higher volumes to the surface with increased productivity.
Perform job execution from a technical mobile vehicle (instrumentation van) where
primary pressures such as surface and bottom hole, fluid rates, densities and chemical
loadings are monitored and controlled based on fracture treatment program and assure
that fracture ingredients like water, acid, chemical additives and proppant sands are
pumped and delivered in to formation in the volumes required by the fracture program.
Administer and inspect (water, acid, proppant and chemicals) for a slick-water or gel
fluid system, and make sure these components are present in the right amounts and
that their qualities are proper before starting the job by making pH measurements on
fresh water, breaker tests given a gel fluid system and continually measure fluid
temperature, fluid pH and viscosity throughout the job.
Required to annotate and prepare complex reports in regards to job details, from start
to finish of each job done on the wells in compliance with time deadlines, treatment
