USA, crossing the Atlantic to the iberian peninsula,
great films are being made. The Fenix Awards is an
event created to promote and celebrate our cine-
matic efforts and talent. More Starch contributed
creating content for promotion and planning/exe-
cuting the social media strategy, along with the live
coverage of the event.

8. More Starch worked with one of the NGOs leading
the initiative to create an animation that would
spearheaded a campaign that needed to compile
at least 120,000 physical (not digital) signatures in
order to utilise a provision in the Mexican constitu-
tion that allows citizens to put before congress laws
for consideration. In total 634,143 citizens signed the
petition. 634,143 Mexicans who are tired of the
same blatantly corrupt politicians gorging them-
selves on public money. Citizens tired of impunity
and unchecked cynicism from a political class that
thinks themselves untouchable.

9. The Simone de Beauvoir Leadership Institute was
faced with the sort of problem most NGOs would
love to have, they'd grown considerably in 16 years
and could no longer be defined by the narrow
mission with which they'd launched. They were in
fact an organization that was about much more
than just promoting women's leadership. Though
a series of brainstorming session between their
team and More Starch we arrived at a few conclu-
sion aiming to give the NGO an identity and
website to take them through the next 16 years.

attracted speakers such as James Cameron, Alfonso
Cuarón, along with co-founder of Apple Steve Wozniak,
and the costumedesigner of Mad Men, Jayne Briant .

11. Historically, Sinaloa is one of the most violent
regions of the country. Politicians, however, do
not talk about it. This topic is not debated publicly.
There is an unspoken agreement of silence around
it. That is why in Ve por Sinaloa we did an investiga-
tion about the violent processes that occur here,
focusing specially in homicide. We wanted to put
the topic on debate during the elections, and after
them, because it is one of the problems with most
impact on the population.

12. "The only thing to fear is fear itself."
Article 19's Mexico office approached us to redesign the
identity, website, and content for their "Break the Fear"
project which focuses on providing advice and information to
journalist working in high risk circumstances in the country.
The primary objective was to make the website and it's
information as accesible as possible. We realised that the
primary method of interacting with the information and
advice generated by A19 wasn't the website but social
media and Whatsapp. With this in mind all the content was
redesigned into .gifs and static images that allowed easy,
non scrolling, legibility on an average mobile phone.
The website was also designed to be responsive and a
"catch-all" for the live coverage of the different protests
and journalistic coverage of them.

13. We worked closely on this project with Article 19’s
Mexico City team in order to create a site that could
encompass both a somewhat abstract take on the com-
plexity of impunity in Mexico and the information about
4 case studies they wanted to focus on as examples of
the problem.

how impunity functions in Mexico we built a Rube

15. With a little over a month to go before the 2012 Presidential
Elections in Mexico we worked closely with Arena Electoral

find which candidates proposals they most agreed with.

16. We are huge fans of animated gifs. We are
such fans that we spend an enormous
amount of time collecting the awesome
gifs we find littered all over the internet.
This fixation naturally lead us to wonder
if there is anything more awesome than
a Gif.
The answer: Two Gifs combined!
Thus the Gifxer was born.
