To whom it may concern,
JOTHAM LIM: LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
I am writing to you to recommend Jotham Lim as a candidate for your internship programme.
Jotham Lim worked part-time at the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore from 19 November 2014
to 24 January 2015 as Project Assistant for Singapore by Singapore: From myth to neon realism. The
project, curated Silke Schmickl and Nicole Brenez, comprised an outdoor screening of short films and
a masterclass on film distribution and exhibition. These events were presented by the ICA Singapore
as part of Singapore Art Week 2015.
As coordinating curator, I oversaw and supervised Jothamʼs work on the project. His role was to plan
and implement the marketing and audience outreach campaign for the project, and to contribute to
aspects of its administration and organisation. Key areas of responsibility included managing social
media for the screening and masterclass, coordinating distribution of promotional posters and flyers
and liaising with food vendors.
Jotham is a keen and conscientious worker. He is able to engage with curatorial ideas and artistic
concepts and develop strategies and research relevant to their effective promotion. He is an excellent
communicator, who is able to draft and deliver engaging written and verbal content for a variety of
purposes. Jotham works effectively both independently and as part of team, and is able to
communicate with external contractors and stakeholders with ease. He also regularly seeks feedback
on his activities in order to improve the quality of his work.
For these reasons, I would highly recommend Jotham Lim for your internship programme.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries related to this letter of recommendation or
Jothamʼs role at the ICA Singapore.
Yours sincerely,
Melanie Pocock
Assistant Curator
