NARRATIVE REPORT
In this project, I did the home-based learning for the students but I’ve
made it like a group session so that it is more fun and I gathered 10 students in total
and they are 7-9 years old.
On Day 1, March 17, 2022, I conducted a study and a search for students who
are struggling in their studies.
On Day 2, March 18, 2022, I crafted my letter of permission to the
community/ barangay to conduct my project, which is the one that our professor
told us to use, and I made 2 copies of it, one for the Barangay and one for me.
On Day 3, March 21, 2022, which is Monday around 8 AM, when we started
our study session, we started with a prayer and I teach them how “Bow down your
head, hold your hands, close your eyes, and let us pray, Dear Lord Thank you for the
new day and new life that you have given to us, and thank you blessings that you
have showered upon, guide us and give us strength for the day, In Jesus Name we
pray, Amen.” and greetings after it. We tried to sing a short action song and then
move forward to the activity. The first activity is looking at words on the billboards,
signs and supermarket items and encouraging them to write a word on what they
see on the billboards, on the signs and on the supermarket items. And after the
activity, we sang a different song again, and after that we prayed for our finishing
activity for the day “Lord, thank you for the strength and knowledge you have given
to us, as we go home guide our way and keep our way safe, in Jesus name we Pray,
Amen.” and then I gave them a little snacks while they moving out to the site.
On Day 4, March 22, 2022, the second day of the session, the first thing we
did was to pray to guide us in our activity, then greetings to each other, then we
sang action songs like head to toes. Afterwards, I showed them Splash Words about
the parts of the body and some parts of the economy and showed them some kinds
of graffiti walls to read. After reading the different words that I showed them, we
moved on to the next part, which is we played a game which is the "Simon says" and
"the boat sinking", at first they didn't understand what is the game "the boat is
sinking", but after I explained to them how to play that game is they are happy to
play this game and even the mothers they enjoyed playing it and after that we rest
for a while and we finished our activity for the day after by prayers I'm teaching to
them. And in the afternoon, I saw some of my students teaching their siblings how to
read some words and the other students were playing the game " The boat is
sinking" with their playmates. And I feel happy when I see them playing and reading
happily.
On Day 5, March 23, the third day of the session, we started again in a prayer
before we move on and then greet each other with smile even when its raining
outside. Because it’s raining early in the morning my class has a total of 7, but even
thou we still continued our lesson. In this day I discussed to them on how important
reading to our life, but in Kankanaey Language, and I showed them a picture and
example and difference about the person who can read and can’t read. Even the
parents who came is listening to me, and after discussing them a gave them the
printed pictures that needs to be colored and they can based the color to the
2. pictures that I showed to them. And after time passes we didn’t know that the rain
has stopped and one of the parents gave us and the children a soup to eat, but
before we eat we sang the prayer song that I teaches to them "God is good and God
is great, Here we thank you for our food, by this time that we will eat, give us Lord
our daily bread, Amen.” and then they started to go home
On Day 6, March 24, the fourth day of the session, we focused more on the
activity reading But first we prayed and then we sang action songs again. In this
Activity we've done is the Enacting a favorite character and gave them a simple
costume and find them some props that depict the characters, a young child might
choose is Fern Arable, the little girl in Charlotte’s Web. Wearing a simple dress with
hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, true to her character, young Fern carries on a
brief conversation with Charlotte, with the spider skillfully created from pipe
cleaners. After reading Salt in His Shoes, a young boy might morph into a tall, lanky
Michael and talk to the class about the pursuit of his childhood dream to play
basketball. but they get attached easily to their characters and they can deliver the
words they read on the book. and after that activity we chat a little with the students
on they feel while they are playing their roles and afterwards we have a little snacks
that made by the parents and we sang prayer song again.
On Day 6, March 25, fifth day of our session,
