2. Founded in October 2015, Salford University Race Team
is an ambitious project created by a team of dedicated
engineering and business students to compete in
Formula Student.
Formula Student is the world’s most established
educational motorsport competition. The UK competition
is organised by the institution of Mechanical Engineers
and since its inception in 1998, has become a key testing
ground for the next generation of exceptional engineers.
We are designing, building, and marketing a race car.
The team is 100% student run volunteering in our own
time to develop business and engineering skills.
2016 has seen us finalise our virtual design and we are
well on our way to manufacturing the chassis.
The 2017 race season will move us on to the next
challenge of bringing the rest of our design to life as a
track ready race car.

of students. We will present to industry experts at the
formula student competition, held at Silverstone Grand Prix
track in July. Our car will be seen by students from across
