MY STORY…
I am a High School graduate From Modoc High School Alturas, CA 96101I have reached a high level of
knowledge and experience in computer Systems, through extensive self-study Because, I enjoy
Computers.as a hobby I learned to Maintain and manage my personal computer Starting back on
Microsoft Windows 95 Pentium 166Mhz with 32Mb of ram 1.5Gb Hard drive No Modem in the ISA port I
learned to FDisk my C: drive and install windows 95/98 with some help from my grandpa over the phone
long distance he sent me a modem so I could finally get online using Netscape navigator in the year 2000
I installed windows 98 with the help from a neighbor kid stealing the CD and key from his dad My CPU
didn’t have MMX support at the time for 98 SE I had to find a 266MHz cpu with MMX support for the
socket 7 Platform at the time my Cpu heat sync didn’t have a fan on it I learned the hard way by burning
myself why my computer was freezing up playing RED ALERT II in High school I read a 3500 page
book in my reading period called BIGLOWS 3rd edition How to REPAIR & Maintain Computers this book
was Old and barely covered the Pentium III past socket One but it did teach me a better understanding on
the ISO layer and how a computer boots as well as how to make a CAT5 Crossover cable so I could
3. Make a file server as well as Share my dialup connection with the other computer later in 11th grade I
used a combination of programs the school had mainly PAINT BRUSH and Microsoft Word 98 to redesign
the report card forms and referral forms and other forms for extra credits Once he realized how much I
knew about the computer he got with the school principal to bring in an old working computer for me to
simply take apart and tell the call what each component was He did mention that he didn’t know if I was
telling the truth or not as he was not computer illiterate and that I would be graded on if the computer
would work after I took it apart and put it back to gather the machine was a socket 7 AMD k6-5 450mhz
and it was dismantled and put back into working order and I was given 25 High School credits for this
activity At this time I personally owned a Gateway Performance 1000 desktop computer with 384MB Pc -
133 40gb WD-400 with a Pentium 3 1000Mhz Computer running Windows 2000 Pro with Service Pack
4,Yes windows XP was out but I didn’t like it due to stability issues until service pack 2 was released but
by that time I was running a AMD based system and through trial and error I used Windows XP X64bit
over the 32bit version. Well I am going to leave it at this because I don’t want to make this Resume too
long but I do hope what I’ve said impresses you too some degree Thank you for reading this and I hope
you contact me.
