2. Dr. John Miko
Associate Dean, School of Business
at Saint Francis University
After submitting my idea into the
Invest in Success competition I met
with Dr. Miko to discuss the
possibility and likelihood of putting Midnight Munchiez in to
work. I asked him what he thought I should do next. I expressed
my concerns that after talking to a few people around campus, I
did not believe any of them were particularly qualified to help me
with the technological side of the idea (launching a fully
functional website, creating an application etc.) Therefore, he
recommended me to get in touch with a former SFU student who
was into entrepreneurial projects and who could possibly help
me develop these prototypes further.
3. Mr. Tyler Jones
Lawyer and Business Entrepreneur
from Canada
Dr. Miko, referred me to Tyler who
was a former student of his at Saint
Franics. He told me he was a bright
person who was interested in helping other students from SFU to
pursue their entrepreneurial projects. I connected with Tyler and
after a few emails we set up a phone call. In this phone call we
discussed the problems I was having, and he told me that often
happens in small school settings such as Saint Francis where
the student population, and therefore, your options, aren’t as
large. He told me a couple of his clients were investors and that
he would bounce the idea around them to see if he knew of
anyone that could be of help. I haven’t followed up with him
lately mainly because I am looking for someone I can closely
work on to push this project forward and Tyler was looking more
to help by providing capital resources
4. Gabriel Medina
Interactive Designer, Game Designer
& Entrepreneur at Kokonut
The last person I contacted was my
cousin Gabriel. The reason I did so
was because he works for an
Interactive designer company called Kokonut. I asked him what
the best way to go about my idea was and he told me to first
create a website and then look to expand into the mobile app. I
proceeded to ask him if he could help me create this website
and he told me that the usual cost to create these things is
sometimes high. We discussed my budget in hand and I realized
there is not much I can do with what I have. At least not through
a professional service. He suggested me to find a partner who is
more involved with this kind of technology and go on from there.
That is why I currently created my website prototype using
Wix.com which has been a relatively cheap way to launch
