1. GatewayCDI Announces Preferred Supplier Initiative
SAINT LOUIS, MO -- GatewayCDI, a nationwide promotional products distributor and
incentive company with 80 employees based in St. Louis, Missouri, announced today a new
preferred supplier relationship initiative.
“GatewayCDI seeks to help our suppliers understand the needs of our end-users,” said Joanna
Whitling, Merchandise Buyer and Program Supplier Manager. “The days when a supplier rep
walks into our building, shows a bunch of products, then drives down the road to the next
meeting are over. We need to significantly improve the communication between our supplier
partners and GatewayCDI.”
GatewayCDI developed comprehensive power point presentations that are proactively sent to the
preferred supplier representative thirty days prior to each supplier presentation. The power point
contains information about each of our clients, their target demographics, and logo information
inclusive of PMS colors and brand standards. The presentations also contain historical sales data
providing the suppliers with information about sales trends and popular products.
“Next, we direct our preferred supplier partners to a password protected ftp site so they can
download our clients’ logos,” said Michelle Parker, Regional Sales Manager and Special Order
Supplier Manager. “This allows our supplier partners to arrive at our building prepared with
end-user information and decorated virtual and/or spec samples. We hope to lead the industry in
improving the preferred supplier-distributor partnership. It’s a two-way street.”
