Ladies and Gentlemen:
It gives me great pleasure to support Mr. Jordan Lance Umstead for a seat in your
upcoming master’s degree program for Fall 2016. Jordan has over five years of
experience in personal sales and retailing in addition to his natural talent and ethics. I
know Jordan will really thrive given this opportunity. He’s a very deserving talent I
believe should be supported in this endeavor for several reasons. First, I taught Jordan
two management courses, including the Principles of Management and Human Resource
Development, when he was an undergraduate student at Sam Houston State. His
performance in the classes was superior and commendable. Also, I encouraged him
toward a master’s degree program in marketing. Frankly, Jordan Umstead was one of the
more quality students I have taught recently at SHSU. Currently, he is preparing to
graduate and wants to attend graduate school in Texas.
As a lifetime certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, I feel qualified
to attest to the professional knowledge, skills and abilities of Jordan Umstead. First,
Jordan has a solid educational and experiential background in business, particularly
marketing. He has both the breadth and depth required to be successful. Next, Jordan
has the communication and human relations skills to be effective. I know Jordan’s
personality is well suited to be a sales and marketing professional. Finally, he has the
organizational and managerial ability to lead in the future. However, Jordan’s best
qualities may be his dedication to helping others and his persistence and perseverance to
succeed. Jordan is bright and a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon and Kappa Alpha Psi.
Let me explain with an insight into his character. Jordan is not interested in who
gets the credit, or which department might be “in control.” He does not play power over
people, but is a practitioner of the synergistic concept of “power with.” Jordan knows
this type of approach unites a team and helps people grow. Most importantly, Jordan is
compassionate and truly about helping people. I give Mr. Jordan Lance Umstead my very
highest recommendation and do so without any hesitation or reservations. I know he will
be an outstanding future marketing executive. I believe he is a perfect match for your
master’s in marketing degree. I guarantee you will be very pleased with his performance
and contribution. Should you need any further information, please contact me at (936)
294-1895 or mgt_cjc@shsu.edu.
Sincerely,
Charles
