2. Personal I am a small town girl from Huron, SD. I spent half my childhood living in town, and the other half living out in the country. I am a very ambitious person and I love getting certified. It doesn’t matter what it’s for, I just love having certification cards so that I can say I’m certified to do random things– like deliver a baby! The most important thing to me is helping other people out, so if a situation ever arises I want to be prepared!
3. Hobbies/activities I like to stay busy because being bored is, well, boring. All my hobbies can be summed up into one main hobby: I love to learn. If it sounds interesting and unusual I will do the research and figure out how to do it. I am an average looking small town girl, but I pack a big punch. Or, as I like to say, small but mighty! Skydiving for my 21st birthday
4. Professional goals I have many goals in life. A life without direction is like a room with no walls- not much of anything at all. My main goal is to become a high school English teacher and to use the experiences I gain to write novels about the difficulties youth face.
5. Where do I want to be in 10 years In ten years I would definitely love to be on a beach, sipping a smoothie, enjoying the ocean breeze as I work on my latest hit novel. That plan is not likely, and, since I am a realist, I would really like to be close to my family, with a young family of my own, doing what I love, and loving what I do. The details don’t matter, so long as I am happy with my life. And if I’m not, well it’s never too late for change!
6. Sioux Empire Pit Rescue I am a member and a foster parent for the rescue. I currently have a female named Asia who is just an absolute delight! The way the rescue works, as with most rescues, is that each of our dogs lives in a foster home. This is the same concept as fostering children. Rather than having them live in large group homes they live in an actual house, with parents, who are there to help them grow as Sioux Empires mission is to promote responsible Pit Bull ownership, provide breed education, combat pet overpopulation, and find qualified homes for sound Pit Bull dogs in South Dakota. individuals and correct any bad habits.
7. We take all of our dogs off of death row from various places, mostly in the Midwest. Our two latest dogs came from a raid in Oakland in which a 68 year old man had 33 dogs in the kennels you see here. They were very abused and terrified when the officers came to save them. http://www.ktvu.com/news/26536429/detail.html
8. South Dakota Air national guard As a member of the ANG I am an aircraft fuel systems mechanic. This does not mean that I put fuel into the planes. All the tanks and fuel lines from where the fuel enters the plane to where it ignites in the engine is my domain. “Our job is to get that plane working so they can go out and drop bombs on the people that deserve to die!” -SSgt Lanoue Graduating class 09Oct2009
