40%, but we subsequentlyreduceditto18% duringJanuaryandFebruary2015, and then0% by
March. The reductionindelayswaspartlya resultof myhard work andwillingnesstoworkovertime
to ensure all of mydutieswere completedandtoincrease myefficiency,andpartlythankstoMavis
ensuringthatthe meterswere readat the righttime.
Mouchel have beenappointedbyAffinitytoadministerthe meter-readingprocess,andare liable to
finesorlossof trustif certaintargets (includingclearingad-hocs) are notmet.Thismeantthat
Mouchel were regularlysubjecttofineswhenthe failure rate wasaround40%, but were hardlyever
finedonce the rate droppedto 0%.
WhenI startedthisjobin October2014, anothermemberof staff wasresponsible forclearingmost
of the ad-hocs,butI thenbeganhelpingoutwhenitwasrealisedthatmyotherdutyof analysing
meterreadingsdidnottake up mywhole day.Asthis memberof staff had to leave suddenlyin
Februarydue to the deathof her husband,responsibilityforthe bulkof thistaskthenfell tome.I am
honouredthatthe increase inmyefficiencyisreflectedinthe improvementinMouchel’s
performance.

I meetwithAffinityWateryesterdayandwe hada lookat the delaysoverthe pastsix months. In
Decemberwe were lookingata failure rate of approximately40%. ThroughJanuary andFebruary
youmanage to reduce thisto 18% before reducingitdownto0% inMarch. Thisis an incredible
successand has increasedMouchel’ssalesbyapproximately2.2kpermonth.
GiventhatAd-Hocsis the keyarea onthe projectwhere Mouchel lossesmoney,thisisanamazing
stepforwardsandyou shouldbe exceptionallyproudof the effortsyouhave putintoachieve this. I
fullyappreciate thatthiswasa verychallengingtaskthroughthe winterandI know thatthere are
manypeople thatwouldhave failedtodeliversucha difficulttarget. Now thatwe are back on track
we have a real opportunitytodrive the Ad-Hocperformance uptothe requiredlevel toturnaround
the projectand make thisone of Mouchel’smanysuccesses.
