I am a diligent and committed individual seeking graduate opportunities to gain experience and develop my skills
as an Engineer within the Healthcare sector. I have proven myself to be a quick, versatile learner, working equally
proficiently as either part of a team or independently, helping to create and deliver innovative solutions to
problems. I aspire to use my engineering ability to further improve the quality and welfare of those dependent
upon this sector. Healthcare is constantly evolving, pushing the boundaries of engineering, I want to be a part of
and contribute to that development.

Masters of Mechanical Engineering (due to graduate 2015)
Major Individual project – ‘Tissue Vibration’, bespoke project focusing on the design of an experimental system
which is capable of examining the effects of different frequencies of mechanical vibration on bone tissue samples.
Major Group Project – ‘Portable Heater-Cooler Unit for Medical Applications’, team development project for
which I have taken a lead role within the group due to my previous experience.

Covidien USA – Advanced Surgical Technology Engineer June 2014 – Sept 2014 (Summer)
Designed, manufactured and assembled first conceptual prototypes of minimally invasive electrosurgical
device (mechanical and electrical functionality). This project had a net present value of 250 million USD.
Ran a cross departmental project to redesign a current product to better suit the intended market and
demonstrate the potential of the product.
Liaised with new international suppliers to design a vision system to suit our needs.
Gained an understanding of corporate American structure and working culture.
Expanded on knowledge of intellectual property and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
Conducted testing of devices on tissues and gained cadaver lab experience.
Siemens Magnet Technology – Process Engineer July 2012 – July 2013

University Bursary: Awarded for achieving higher than necessary A-Level grades for entry.

Karate: Shotokan style for 10 years achieving a senior belt and an appreciation of discipline and respect for
fellow competitors. Wado Ryu style representing Loughborough University in competition.
Kung Fu: Training and representing Loughborough University in competition.
Rugby: Played for West Park Rugby Union Club from the age of 6 to 18.
Reading: The Engineer, Eureka Magazine, Physics World news website.
Community: Oxford science festival conducting experiments for the general public and primary school children.
Charity: Participant of “lost” where I was blindfolded and dropped 100 miles from Loughborough University,
having to then navigate my way back without using any money. This was in aid of the Loughborough University
charity ‘Raising and Giving’. A member of the Siemens team for the OX5 fun run where we raised money for
Oxford children’s hospital.
