This document outlines the responsibilities of a safety and security role. The responsibilities include: 1) Coordinating safety and security services and monitoring operations; 2) Performing security assessments and reviewing safety procedures; 3) Planning and coordinating security escorts. Additional responsibilities are staff management and training, security management including risk assessments and standard operating procedures, and investigation of security incidents.
1. Work experience
1. Coordination of safety and security services in the base Station and areas of operations.
2. Monitor all security operations ensuring timely intervention and resolution in areas of concern;
and to gather all security information in the region, analyze and disseminate the same to the relevant offices.
3. Perform security assessments in all stations and regularly review safety and security procedures in consultation
with other stake holders.
4. Plan, organize and coordinate security escorts within and out of Stations whenever required for the operations.
5. Manage the access control of the premises compound as well as control rooms.
6. Staff Management and Development
7. Supervise Safety & Security staff in all the stations and Promote staff development through support,coaching and
mentoring.
8. Assist the systemin identifying Unit’s staff development needs and design/identify appropriate interventions to
address the needs.
9. Conducting regular safety and security trainings of all the staff in station/base.
10. Security management
11. Develop and regularly update the Safety and Security Management Plan and tools including detailed Security
Risk Assessments; Contingency planning and Standard Operating Procedures.
12. Conducting employee background checks or vetting.
13. Crime prevention, detection,and crime pattern prediction; Installation and monitoring of emergency alarms
response and incident reporting
14. Supervision of sentry and guard force management duties as a routine preventive security measures to ensure
personal safety and security of the commanders, Dignitaries and staff.
15. Carrying out preliminary security investigation in case of incidents
16. Carrying out Security/crime investigation, daily perimeter security check, Interrogation and interviewing of
offenders.
17. Investigate all security incidences and preparing of incidents reports writing.
18. Carrying out continuous appraisal of matters of investigation and security
19. Developing physicalsecurity plan and carry out risk assessment plan
20. Conducting security survey and Audit
21. Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Operatives; Field Safety and Security Management Planning
22. Perform all general administrative duties related to training as well as in the field operations concerning
causality evacuation following the standard evacuation procedures among other issues.
