possible. For every 10% growth in mobile
penetration, a 2.5% increase on GDP per
capita is also predicted.

ment Requirements
Africa is on track to offer universal
internet access by 2030, but achiev-
ing this feat comes at a cost. The
Connecting Africa Through Broad-
band report from the Broadband
Commission states that nearly 1.1
billion new users would need to be
connected and just over $100 billion
would have to be mobilized. Much of
this money would go towards imple-
mentation costs such as infrastruc-
ture and network management.
