My Insight on Therapist: It is important that the therapist understand the clients needs, the transference
of the therapists needs are not to be placed within the therapeutic session. I say this with no
reservations because it has been my approach to therapy for over thirty years. Within the session the
therapist may include experiences which may relate to the clients experiences in order to help develop
better communication and quicker resolution of the clients needs and situation.
The spiritual aspect within therapy is not to preach the Theos rather for the therapist to use an iconic
approach to the Theos. It must be understood that the client may not have a specific religious bent so it
is important Not to be religious but spiritual to the High Power within the Universe when dealing with
the 12 Step Program. It is a primary responsibility of the therapist to understand the needs not just of
the Client but of the extended family and how both will work hand and hand to develop a
comprehensive program for the welfare of the client and his or her society. (Those being served.)
Respectfully Yours:
John Trojian, PhD. Abd
