It is characterized by clearly defined research questions, structured instruments to gather measurable data, large sample sizes, and numerical presentation of data in tables, charts and graphs. The data can be used to predict future outcomes, verify existing facts, and develop new concepts. Quantitative research aims for precision, accuracy and avoiding biases in interpreting results.

• All phases of the study are carefully designed before data are
