Welcome and Brief introduction of Emcee's - We're Todd and Erin from 898.7 We're
volunteers this evening.
Our Goal is to encourage strong and continuing support for NMHP of Utah
We would like to thank the great staff of volunteers and sponsors for making Save A Stray
Soiree happen,
Thank you to the Shades of Grey Band for donating and providing our music tonight.
Each person has given their time to make this event successful, while understanding every
dollar saved is another dollar being donated to support the animals.
We would like to ask you to take a moment and recognize our sponsors. You'll see and
recognize their names and brands up on the screen. You'll see their names listed in the
program. We encourage you to support business who give back to the community, These
sponsors have been very generous to No More Homeless Pets of Utah. We thank each of
them and all of you for being here .
We would like to take a moment to hear from two of our sponsors who are here tonight.

Please welcome to the stage, Joan Gallegos, on behalf of Tresor Jewelers.
I'd like to take a moment to recognize the generous support of Tresor Jewelers who
donated in excess of $15,000.00 they Ad lib.
If we can have Arthur Benjamin from American Dog Rescue come up:
I will speak about all I learned about rescue (from my five pound poodle "Buddy"); when it hit
me money made the difference and where that has taken us; and how everyone else can
make their own difference tonight by bidding, and bidding high. (3-4 mins)
This is one of the few times you can feel GOOD about paying MORE than retail for
something ... The donation goes to help the animals.
Let's have a reminder of why we're here.
Save A Stray Soiree committee members have organized this event tonight for an important
purpose. We're asking you to be generous for the sake of animals who have no voice. I
believe this video clip expresses a message about as well as any words which could be said.

Let's jump back to the beginning for a moment.
No More Homeless Pets in Utah began in 2000 as a program of Best Friends Animal Society
and supported by a generous five-year grant from Maddie's Fund, Pet Rescue Foundation ™ •
It is now an independent non-profit organization. Without GRANTS, this organization is
dependent on donations and fund-raisers, This is why we have the Save A Stray Soiree. We
count on and rely upon your donations. In the process of soliciting donations, we like to help
you have a good time.
The Mission of No More Homeless Pets in Utah is this:
To end the euthanasia of homeless dogs and cats, statewide, and to promote humane
alternatives for feral cats.

Here you see our goals for 2010. They're assertive and based on the increasing challenges
and demands.
Considering the diverse needs, you can see why we are counting on your support and
donations to help needy animals .
We would like to invite Gregory Castle, The President of NMHPU to come up and share a few
comments.
Thank you very much for being here today, it's wonderful to see so many enthusiastic
supporters of No More Homeless Pets in Utah coming out to celebrate the life-saving work
that we have been doing.
Our spaying and neutering programs have prevented thousands and thousands of unwanted
animals from being born, only to end up on the streets. We have given low-income folks all
over the state the ability to sterilize their animals at very low cost, something they'd be unable
to do without these programs.
Through the help that you've given this organization over the last 10 years No More Homeless
Pets in Utah has been able to save literally thousands of lives of cats and dogs. Our work with
the shelters and other rescue organizations in the state have changed the picture for
abandoned dogs and cats. There are many fewer animals now being destroyed than there
were a decade ago.
We've experienced greater than a 40% reduction in euthanized animals.
300,000 dogs and cats have been spayed and neutered at discount rates since NMHPU
started.
70,000 dogs and cats have been adopted by the NMHPU coalition programs.
Before NMHPU started 10 years ago, only 45% of animals came out of shelters alive; now
61% of them survive.
•
We are very aware that there is still much work to be done. We will not rest until we have
saved them all, and there are no healthy and easily treatable dogs and cats languishing in
shelters or straying the streets.
None of this life-saving work would be possible without your support. We know how much you
care, and how much you want to reach the goal of no homeless animals in the state. We are
so grateful to you for the support you continue to give. With your continued help, we will reach
that time - when there are No More Homeless Pets in Utah.
Here is one more reminder that we have real lives which can use some real help.
(Run Video)
This ad closes with a message of how great it would be if every family could donate $5.
Imagine the positive results you are creating with your donations this evening.
We have some amazing auctioneers with us tonight to help us raise a lot of money and save a
lot of lives. Feel free to get your Holiday Shopping done early.
We especially want to thank those of you who bid so much higher than the 'Sticker Price.' We
rely on you. Again, Thank you.

We're going to show you one more video to set the tone for our live auction. In a moment,
Feel free to get your cell phones out and call your friends which weren't able to be here and
who need you to bid for them tonight. Better yet, out-bid them yourselves.
You're about so see some amazing success stories where animals in need have found a place
to call home. It is our hope, that after being here tonight, you'll see yourselves as part of a
solution for challenges in Utah. Some people don't have the options to adopt, but all can
support our cause.
(Run Video)
I want you to know, that "I'm a believer."
Other Emcee "I'm a Believer."
I am reminded of the conversation overheard a few auctions back where a guest was
explaining how they had donated money, and ended up with some great gifts to take home at
the same time.
I hope many of you can have that same feeling when we end our auction tonight.
Thank you, now lets change some lives ..
