COMMODITY FUTURES AS AN INVESTMENT AVENUEAditya Arora
A report on the growth of the commodity futures market has been significant in terms of both network and volume since the inception of the market about a decade ago. At present, there is a two-level formation for Commodity Exchanges in India: Regional and Country-Wide. The regional exchanges are permitted to trade in restricted commodities (which are clearly specified for each regional exchange) and their membership is local. On the other hand, the countrywide exchanges are electronic with demutualized ownership and offer a wide bouquet of contracts for trading purposes. The three premier countrywide commodity exchanges in India are MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange), NMCE (National Multi Commodity Exchange) and NCDEX (National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange). The MCX occupies over 80% of the market share in India and finds its place in the top ten commodity exchanges in the world.

A study of technical analysis in different sector stocksProjects Kart
A study of technical analysis in different sectors stocks. This study helps us understand the difference between fundamental study and technical study of different sector's stocks. Fundamental analysis is one of the important techniques, which is used to study the future behavior of the stocks. It actually refers to analyses of present and future earning capacity of the stocks based on the analysis of economy, industry and company as a whole there by to determine the intrinsic values of the stocks.
In other words, fundamental analysis is mainly concerned with the determination of intrinsic value of the stocks by analyzing the fundamental factors of economy, industry and company as a whole. The intrinsic value of the stocks represents the real worth or economic value, which is used by the fundamental analysts to identify the under priced and overpriced securities in the market. It means, if the intrinsic value of the stock is more than the market value, it considered as under priced and included in the portfolio. On the other hand, if the intrinsic value of a stock is less then the market value then it is considered as overpriced and excluded from the portfolio.
Thus, fundamental analysis is mainly concerned with the determination of intrinsic value of stocks and based on that intrinsic value investment decisions are taken by the fundamental analysts.
It is another important technique, which is used to predict the future performance of the stocks. It is mainly concerned with the study of historical price movements of the stocks and on its volume of trade in the market to predict the future trend movements of the stocks. However, it does not consider any fundamental factors of the company like earnings, dividends, growth rates etc.
Abstract
The idea of an Efficient Market first came from the French mathematician Louis Bachelier in 1900: « The theory of speculation ».
Bachelier argued that there is no useful information in past stock prices that can help predicting future prices and proposed a theory for financial options’ valuation based on Fourier’s law and Brownian’s motions (time series).
Bachelier’s work get popular in the 60s during the computer’s era.
In 1965, Eugene Fama published a dissertation arguing for the random walk hypothesis (Stock market’s prices evolve randomly: prices cannot be predicted using past data).
In 1970, Fama published a review of the theory and empirical evidences
The EMH (Efficient Market Hypothesis): Financial markets are efficient at processing information. Consequently, the prices of securities is a correct representation of all information available at any time.
Weak:
Not possible to earn superior profits (risk adjusted) based on the knowledge of past prices and returns.
Semi-strong:
Not possible to earn superior profits using all information publicly available.
Strong:
Not possible to earn superior profit using all publicly and inside information.
The CAPM describes the relationship between market risks and expected return for a security i (also called cost of equity), E(Re_i):
Re_i = Rf – Bi(Rm – Rf)
With:
Rf = Risk free rate (typically government bond rate)
Rm = Expected return for the whole market
Bi = The volatility risk of the security i compared to the whole market
(Rm – Rf) is consequently the market risk premium
According to the EMH, for a well-diversified portfolio, expected returns can only reflect those of the market as a whole. Consequently, in the CAPM formula, It would involves that for a diversified-enough portfolio: β = 1 so Re = Rm

Have you ever wondered why some companies always stay small? Many times, I have seen private companies grow to around US$50 million in sales and pretty much stop there. I have a feeling one of the reasons is the CEO does not know how to work with managers under him. He likes to make all the decisions and will not delegate decision-making to his managers. This tends to stop growth at that US$50 million level. A few years ago, I prepared a presentation on this problem titled CEO PRIDE. I think it is still important today, so I uploaded it into SLIDESHARE. I talk about using the advantages of pride and avoiding the disadvantages. Have a look at it. If you have any comments on it, drop me a note.

US Economic Outlook - Being Decided - M Capital Group August 2021.pdfpchutichetpong
The U.S. economy is continuing its impressive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and not slowing down despite re-occurring bumps. The U.S. savings rate reached its highest ever recorded level at 34% in April 2020 and Americans seem ready to spend. The sectors that had been hurt the most by the pandemic specifically reduced consumer spending, like retail, leisure, hospitality, and travel, are now experiencing massive growth in revenue and job openings.
Could this growth lead to a “Roaring Twenties”? As quickly as the U.S. economy contracted, experiencing a 9.1% drop in economic output relative to the business cycle in Q2 2020, the largest in recorded history, it has rebounded beyond expectations. This surprising growth seems to be fueled by the U.S. government’s aggressive fiscal and monetary policies, and an increase in consumer spending as mobility restrictions are lifted. Unemployment rates between June 2020 and June 2021 decreased by 5.2%, while the demand for labor is increasing, coupled with increasing wages to incentivize Americans to rejoin the labor force. Schools and businesses are expected to fully reopen soon. In parallel, vaccination rates across the country and the world continue to rise, with full vaccination rates of 50% and 14.8% respectively.
However, it is not completely smooth sailing from here. According to M Capital Group, the main risks that threaten the continued growth of the U.S. economy are inflation, unsettled trade relations, and another wave of Covid-19 mutations that could shut down the world again. Have we learned from the past year of COVID-19 and adapted our economy accordingly?
“In order for the U.S. economy to continue growing, whether there is another wave or not, the U.S. needs to focus on diversifying supply chains, supporting business investment, and maintaining consumer spending,” says Grace Feeley, a research analyst at M Capital Group.
While the economic indicators are positive, the risks are coming closer to manifesting and threatening such growth. The new variants spreading throughout the world, Delta, Lambda, and Gamma, are vaccine-resistant and muddy the predictions made about the economy and health of the country. These variants bring back the feeling of uncertainty that has wreaked havoc not only on the stock market but the mindset of people around the world. MCG provides unique insight on how to mitigate these risks to possibly ensure a bright economic future.

The European Unemployment Puzzle: implications from population agingGRAPE
We study the link between the evolving age structure of the working population and unemployment. We build a large new Keynesian OLG model with a realistic age structure, labor market frictions, sticky prices, and aggregate shocks. Once calibrated to the European economy, we quantify the extent to which demographic changes over the last three decades have contributed to the decline of the unemployment rate. Our findings yield important implications for the future evolution of unemployment given the anticipated further aging of the working population in Europe. We also quantify the implications for optimal monetary policy: lowering inflation volatility becomes less costly in terms of GDP and unemployment volatility, which hints that optimal monetary policy may be more hawkish in an aging society. Finally, our results also propose a partial reversal of the European-US unemployment puzzle due to the fact that the share of young workers is expected to remain robust in the US.
What website can I sell pi coins securely.DOT TECH
Currently there are no website or exchange that allow buying or selling of pi coins..
But you can still easily sell pi coins, by reselling it to exchanges/crypto whales interested in holding thousands of pi coins before the mainnet launch.
