Local Public Affairs Firm Wins International and National Recognition
Torrance, CA – June 16, 2015. Local political consulting firm Freeman Public Affairs Inc. has been
awarded the 2014 Communitas Award for Public Safety Commitment in the category Making A
Difference, and the 2015 Silver Summit International Award for Creativity in the Political Category.
The Communitas Award recognizes exceptional contributions to the community from businesses,
organizations and individuals. It was established by the R.S. Owens Company, originators of the
Oscar®, Emmy®, MTV® and MarCom® Awards.
The firm was nominated by the Rialto Police Benefit Association for outstanding dedication to
safeguarding and promoting public safety throughout the state. According to the Association’s
President, Richard Royce, “Jim Freeman and Freeman Public Affairs have been on the front lines
fighting to protect public safety associations for over a decade and a half. We were pleased to
nominate them for this prestigious award."
The Summit International Award competition was created over 22 years ago to enable small and
medium sized companies the opportunity to showcase their talents. This year’s Political Category
received over 5,000 submissions from 23 countries.
Freeman Public Affairs won the Silver Award for their direct mail brochure produced for the Mayor
of Fontana’s re-election campaign. It featured a traditional eye chart that spelled out “Focused on
Fontana” and the tagline, “Some things are clear to everyone”. The high impact brochure was
designed in bright, bold colors and utilized the vision theme with icons throughout.
The firm adds its recent wins to a growing list of accolades that include (Four) 2014 Marcom
Awards, a 2011 Summit International Award and a combined (Six) American Association of
Political Consultants Pollie awards from 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
