2. LEGAL BASIS
RA NO. 6939 – Creation of Cooperative Development
Authority last March 10, 1990 in compliance with Article
XII, Section 15 of the 1987 Constitution,
Ammended by:
R.A NO. 11364 - An Act Reorganizing and Strengthening
the Cooperative Development Authority, Repealing for
the Purpose RA No. 6939, Creating the Cooperative
Development Authority (CDA). - Aug. 8, 2019

To promote the growth and viability of
cooperatives as instruments of equity, social justice
and sustainable economic development.
To implement provisions of RA 6938 (Cooperative
Code of the Philippines), as amended by RA 9520
(The Phil. Cooperative Code of 2008).
