This document provides details of a 15-day cycling tour through Jordan organized by Jezra Travel. The itinerary includes cycling routes between various destinations in Jordan such as Amman, Um Qais, Ajlun, Jerash, Madaba, the Dead Sea, Karak, Dana Nature Reserve, Petra, and Wadi Rum. The tour price of $2,684 per person includes accommodations, meals, transportation, bikes and helmets, guides, and entry fees to attractions. Optional activities such as hiking and camel rides are also described.

2. Day 1 Friday 9 October 2015: Arrival Amman Arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, our airport representative is waiting for you and will assist you with the visa procedures. Visa is not included and costs 40 JD per person. The airport rep will walk with your through customs and to the luggage hall and will bring you to the driver at the arrival hall. Your driver waits for you also in the arrival hall with a name sign. Transfer to the 3* Crystal Hotel in Amman.
Day 2 Saturday 10 October: Amman city tour—Um Qais
After breakfast enjoy a short city tour in Amman, including visits to the Citadel and Roman Theatre. Drive to Um Qais to visit the site with beautiful views over the area. Um Qais, formerly known as Gadara, is the site of the famous miracle of the Gadarene swine. Overnight at Um Qais at the Gadara Appartments.

3. Cycle through Jordan!
Day 3 Sunday 11 October: Um Qais—Himma Hot Springs
Early morning the bikes will be delivered in Um Qais. After breakfast start biking to North Shouna. Bike between the orange banana farms. Continue through the Jordan Valley to the Himma Hot Spring. You will bike along the borderline along Jordan and the Yarmouk river with panoramic views over the area. At the Himma Hot Spring enjoy swimming and some relaxing. After you will go back by bike to the apartment in Um Qais. A nice picnic lunch is included for today and you will be ac- companied by a local guide from Um Qais to find your way. There will be a jeep available for when needed that can take the guests and bikes. Distance of biking today is around 40 km.
Day 4 Monday 12 October: Um Qais—Ajlun Castle & Nature Reserve
Today start biking from Um Qais to Ajlun Nature Reserve. When the road is uphill and you need help, there is a jeep following you that is happy to help you out. Upon arrival in Ajlun you could first visit the Castle with beautiful views over the surrounding area. Lunch boxes are included for today so you can decide yourself when and where to have your lunch. Check in at Ajlun Nature Reserve. If you have time left, you could still explore the area of Ajlun by bike or by foot.
Distance of biking today is around 50 km.
Day 5 Tuesday 13 October: Ajlun Nature Reserve—Dibeen Forest—Jerash
After breakfast bike via the Dibeen Forest to Jerash. Dibeen Forest is representative of the “wild woods” that once covered a large part of North/Western Jordan. Today you also have time to ex- plore the town of Jerash by bike. Lunch suggestion: Um Khalil Lebanese House in Jerash.
Distance of biking today is around 30 km + biking in the village of Jerash.

4. Day 6 Wednesday 14 October: Jerash—Madaba
After breakfast visit the site Jerash, one of the world’s best preserved Roman provincial cities. After your visit to Jerash you are transferred by car direct to Madaba. In Madaba you could explore the city by bike. Madaba is famous about the mosaics. Visit the St. George Church, with its famous mo- saic map, the Archaeological Park, Madaba Museum and the Apostle’s Church.
Lunch option: Haret Jdoudna restaurant in the centre of Madaba.
Biking in the afternoon in Madaba – amount of km is up to you today!

Day 7 Thursday 15 October: Madaba—Mt. Nebo—Dead Sea
Today you can bike to Mt. Nebo, 12 km away from Madaba. You can ask/pay at the hotel if you/ they can make a lunch package, / or go to the supermarket close the hotel and buy a few things like water, bread and sweets/snacks for the road.
Your luggage goes with the luggage transfer to the next accommodation (this will be every morning during the bike tour). Cycle towards Dead Sea. The driver will take your luggage and will stay close to you if needed. Discuss the details with him. Depending on the speed of biking you arrive at Dead Sea end of the morning or beginning of afternoon. Check in at the 4* Holiday Inn Dead Sea hotel, free afternoon and float in the dead sea. This hotel has a direct beach at the Dead sea and a swimmingpool, good buffet restaurant and nice rooms. It will be a treat to stay here for the night. Distance of biking is around 50 – 55 km.

5. Day 8 Friday 16 October: Dead Sea—Wadi Mujib—Karak
If you haven't floated on the water yet, then this morning is your chance! Depending on what time you would like to leave, you can bike from the hotel towards the RSCN Wadi Mujib Bridge and visitor center and if you like you could enjoy (optional):
A fun water Siq Trail, a 2 – 3 hours self-guided tour through the Canyon Wadi Mujib. The RSCN visitor centre provides life vests and changing rooms.
If you do not want to do the Siq Trail you could also stand the Wadi Mujib Bridge (for a small entry) and see the canyon with the water from a distance. Bike from the RSCN reserve to the traffic light junction towards Karak without assistance. (Of course your luggage will be pick up in the morning). From here there will be a car/ minivan assisting you since the route between this traffic junction and the village of Karak is too steep for cycling up.
Distance of biking is around 25 – 30 km.

Day 9 Saturday 17 October: Karak—Dana Nature Reserve
After breakfast, with assistance, you will continue along the King’s Highway through Tafila to Dana Nature Reserve. Do not forget a packed lunch and water. At the steep sections you can load the bikes and drive to Dana Village by car/minibus. On the lesser steep sections or going down you can bike, discuss with the assistance what you would like to do.
Distance of biking is around 65 km.

6. Day 10 Sunday 18 October: Dana—Shobak Castle—Little Petra
This morning you have free morning in Dana Nature Reserve for a walk. Before or after lunch you leave towards Petra. You might even stop by at the castle of Shobak then you cycle to little Petra via a nice scenic route, afterwards on to your hotel in Petra. You always have the luggage assistance with you. Distance of biking is around 35 – 40 km.

Day 11 Monday 19 October: Petra
Since you are so close to Petra, it is easy to arrange your own entry tickets, you can purchase them at the visitor centre, they are 50 JOD cash per person. Visit the Siq, the Treasury, Street of Facades, the Theatre and the Colonnaded Street. After you still have time to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice. A lot of climbing but definitely worth the views!
Lunch suggestion: Basin Restaurant inside of Petra.
Day 12 Tuesday 20 October: Petra—Wadi Rum
Today after breakfast you will load your luggage into the jeep. And they will drive you out of the centre to start your bike tour from a good spot. For the next 2 days there is a jeep with chef with you. Lunches dinners and breakfasts will be prepared during this part of the ride and are included. The jeep takes the food, drink and water, the tents, mattresses and blankets for camping. And he is assisting you where needed during the off road ride.
You can use the jeep for the off road part to follow. Lunch will be near of the village Rajef. Dinner and overnight depending on how far you have come today.
Distance of biking is around 150 km in two days from Petra to Wadi Rum.

7. Day 13 Wednesday 21 October: Wadi Rum
After breakfast you go and cycle through the villages right away into the desert. Lunch location de- pending on how far you come today. After lunch cross the highway and go into the desert. You can today choose to do a part of the desert by:

After the jeep takes the bikes & you for a nice location for sleeping. The chef will prepare the din- ner for you.

Ahlan wa Sahlan ~ Welcome to Jordan
Day 14 Thursday 22 October: Wadi Rum—Aqaba
This morning the representative of the bicycles will pick up the bicycles and the helmets. Then transfer to Aqaba – to the 3*Red Sea Dive Centre +/- 12 km outside the centre of Aqaba (Red Sea). This hotel is cosy with just 13 rooms and a swimmingpool, they have a dive centre and can provide you with snorkeling gear, they are 800 meters away from the public beach where they have beautiful coral for snorkling. The hotel also offers lunch and dinner. All rooms are spacious with AC.
Day 15 Friday 23 October: Departure back home
Transfer to the airport in Amman for departure. You would need to leave the hotel 7 hours in advance of your departure time. (2 hours for check in and around 5 hours driving to the airport— you could also fly from Aqaba to Amman Airport.

These prices include:

 Day 15: Departure transfer to Amman Queen Alia International Airport.
