Yehoshua sent meraglim to Ai to see how they should act to
conquer it .The spies came back saying that there are not
many people there.

3. Yehoshua sent 3000 soldiers into Ai because he thought it would be easy to
defeat them . The people in Ai attacked and they lost about 36 soldiers.

4. Hashem told them why they had been defeated. It was because someone had
taken some valuable items when Hashem told them not to take anything!!

5. They found out that Achan was the one that stole the
valuable item and the money.

6. Achan was killed because he stole the item and the money

7. Yehoshua thought of a clever plan he sent 3000 men to wait behind Ai.

8. Attack !
The king took his soldiers to attack
Yehoshua’s army.

9. Lets run !
Yehoshua’s army pretended to run away so
that the king would chase them. Then no one
would be protecting the city.

10. B’nei Yisrael won the battle and conquered
Ai.
