3. Invitation
• Mr. Disney invited 11,000 people but nearly
30,000 people came.
• 1,000,000 people came within two years to
visit Disneyland, even though running water
was a problem.
• July 17, 2005 was the 50th anniversary of
Disneyland.
4. Fantasyland
• Fantasyland was designed to provide a
magical experience for all children.
• It has attractions such as dark rides, the King
Arthur Carrousel and Sleeping Beauty’s castle.
• It was opened in 1959 and closed in 1992 for
security reasons and technical problems.
• It reopened in 2008 and features new versions
and styles of storytelling.
5. Adventureland
• Adventureland is made to look like a jungle in
Africa or Asia.
• One of Disneyland’s first attractions can be
ridden here. It is called "Jungle Cruise" and
takes guests on a boat ride through a jungle
river.
• Some interests include Tarzan’s Treehouse,
Temple of the Forbidden Eye, and Walt
Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.
6. Tomorrowland
• Tomorrowland was meant to look like the
world of the future.
• Space Mountain was built in 1977. Also, an old
attraction “Submarine Voyage” was rebuilt in
1998.
• The area had a major change in 1967 to
become New Tomorrowland.
7. Mickey’s Toontown
• This land is Disneyland’s newest and the most
silliest land.
• Mickey’s Toontown is where Mickey Mouse
and his friends live.
• Toontown features two main attractions:
Gadget’s Go Coaster and Rodger Rabbit’s Car
Toon Spin.
8. New Orleans Square
• New Orleans Square looks like a place called
the "French Quarter" in New Orleans,
Louisiana.
• The two inspired movies called "Pirates of the
Caribbean" and "The Haunted Mansion" are
very popular attractions in New Orleans
Square.
9. Critter Country
• Critter Country was first named Bear Country.
• “Splash Mountain” is very popular log ride
that the guests wait in line for too long to
enjoy.
• Many adventures of Winnie, the Pooh were
recently added to Disneyland.
