the bracelet to use the
trolley
-The only way to
remove the bracelet is
by returning the trolley
Idea 2

bracelet and a plug.
User enters the trolley zone and place their
hand on the open bracelet, user close the
bracelet and the bracelet then detach from
the bracelet holder. Plug also detaches.
11. When returning the trolley
User pushes the trolley back to the trolley
zone and place bracelet on the bracelet
holder, simultaneously attaching the plug
into the plug hole.
The bracelet will automatically open when
its attached to the bracelet and when the
plug is in the plughole. The trolley is then
locked in the trolley zone

13. INTRODUCTION
Trolleys have gone missing over the
years and supermarkets have been
losing a lot of revenue which could
have been prevented if a better
system was in in placed. The current
system is based on the one dollar
coin return loan system which has
both pros and cons. However, some
people finds it troublesome to return
the trolley therefore leaving their
trolleys around making it difficult for
staff to collect.
On average, 10 trolleys from fair
price stores island wide go missing
every month. Some are seen at void
decks, nearby carparks and etc.
Each trolley costs $100 and was set
back by $1000 last year .

To design a trolley with a locking
feature to improve the return rate of
trolleys used by customers.
Patrons are encouraged to return their
trolleys thus solving the problem of stray
trolleys.
The modified trolley with the locking
feature was well received by customers.
