Extended summary:
My professional profile is characterized by its width:
* My two main academic degrees cover the range between biomedicine and
social science equivalent to a total of 15 years of university studies. In practice
this gives me a firm foundation enabling me to fit into a broad variety of tasks.
Furthermore, it has inspired me to explore the concept of ‘cross-disciplinarity’
from a more academic perspective (as can be seen from the topic of my MPH
and various publications).
* As part of my various jobs, I have worked internationally with a great variety
of topics such as management, research, teaching, public relations, membership
of research councils, human resource capacity building, research into practice
and consultancies for the past 25 years.
* My track record of 70 peer-reviewed publications indicates a broad range of
themes resulting from the various projects in which I have been involved.
* As part of my 11 years of clinical work, and as a prerequisite for my
specialisation in general medicine, I have experience in medical fields ranging
from intensive care to public health (school medicine) - though the main
emphasis has been on paediatrics (2½ years).
* I have significant management experience, partly from five years as a Research
Manager for Prevention Research at the Steno Health Promotion Research where
I have been part of starting up the department, and partly from administration of
various research projects in sub-Saharan Africa. This has encompassed the
creation and implementation of research portfolios, hiring and administrating
staff and setting up administrative procedures including budgetary issues.
* Over the years, I have been involved in fundraising for close to DKK 100 mill.
– either as direct main applicant, or as initiator and manager.
* Apart from fluency in English (and my mother tongue Danish), I have
competences in French (DELF B2 level), Spanish (DELE A2 level), Swedish
and German as well as more superficial knowledge of several other languages.
On a personal note, I consider myself a creative, hard-working and peaceful person with
an ability to work with teams as well as individually.
