ON THE 32ND FLOOR of the tallest
building in Broward sits an apartment home
that dazzles. The apartment, in the downtown
Las Olas River House, is the masterpiece of
local interior designer Steven Gurowitz of In-
teriors by Steven G.
The three-story apartment, known as
the “Park Triplex” model, gives off a sense
of elegance and style from the moment you
step inside. As you walk in, you’re met with
a glimpse of ceiling-to-floor windows that
overlook the city with views of the Fort Lau-
derdale skyline, the New River and the ocean.
The foyer gives way to a custom-made mahog-
any spiral staircase that wraps around an al-
most majestic crystal chandelier that stretches
from the top of the third story to just above
the ground floor. The spiral staircase flows
throughout the three-story apartment, curv-
ing with the smooth design of the walls and
giving off the feeling of being in a magical
place under the sea.
The first floor houses a guest suite with a
private bathroom, built-in shelving in the
walk-in closet and wall-to-wall windows
across from an upholstered wall serving as a
headboard to a cloud-like bedspread. An office
area, customized with wooden wall units, sits
between the guest suite and the family room.
Beauty lights are spread out across the tall ceil-
ings in the main entertaining area; glistening
crystals reflect that light.
A stainless steel kitchen opens to a built-in
bar and formal dining area and features a wine
cellar in the pantry, built-in organizational
shelves and an island layout great for family
time or socializing. With warm tones through-
out and a loft-style layout that includes an
open concept master suite and guest bedroom
on the second floor, the home is complete with
romantic lighting, secret doors, remote con-
trolled solar shades and an elevator.
The master suite on the second floor con-
tains a built-in home theater with drop-down
screen, speakers and projector. It also fea-

private showers, Jacuzzi and topped off with
antique-style chandeliers and a Mosaic stone
inlay done piece by piece for a true custom
floor. The third floor features an open enter-
tainment area with a midnight kitchen and
private bathroom, wall-to-wall windows that
lead out to a rooftop terrace, and a flat screen
television and functional wall unit with hid-
den compartments. Floating night stands,
granite floating sinks and seating in the bath-
rooms round out the home, further adding to
the feeling of being under water.
In addition to the solar paneling found
throughout, the “smart” home promotes en-
ergy efficiency with LED lighting and a fully
connected integration system that allows the
homeowners to control the AC, lights and
more from just about anywhere in the world
with a smartphone.
What started out as a blank canvas of con-
crete floors and bare walls was transformed
into a world of marble tiles and plush carpet-
ing full of various textures and crystal lighting
throughout. From conception to completion,
from hammered metal sinks in the kitchens
to mood lighting in the halls and every detail
in between, the homeowners worked closely
with Interiors by Steven G. to make this truly
a home of their own. While they were involved
in every aspect of the design, they credit Ste-
ven G. and his design team for their immense
creativity, unique vision and dedication over
the 18 months the project took to complete.
As a true token of appreciation, and the
greatest referral a designer can ever hope for,
the homeowners were so enamored with their
home in the sky that they immediately hired
Interiors by Steven G. to remodel and furnish
their son’s apartment home, also in the Las Olas
River House - not to mention the design team
already worked on their daughter’s home in the
same building too. A bona fide family affair that
proves, like Steven G. says, “Happy clients refer
you and use you for years to come.”
