Lower Back
An injury to the lower back can be very debilitating. In order to avoid reoccurring
injuries, it is very important to keep your lower back, abdominals, and hamstrings
strong. These preventative exercises below will help fight against injury causing factors
like bending, crouching, lifting, coughing, improper posture, obesity, and falling.
Exercises:
Hip Bridge: start with knees at
90° & raise hips squeezing
abdominals & hamstrings.
Bird Dog: beginning on all fours,
slowly raise opposite arm & leg
with the goal of balancing.
Keep your core tight.
Superman: lay prone & lift
legs and arms off the ground.
Add in a flutter to advance.
Cat Cow: begin on all fours with
a neutral spine. Slowly arch
back & look forward. Then
slowly round back & look down.
