OpenStack began in 2010 as an open-source cloud-software
framework, to create an abstraction to expose Infrastructure
as a Service on commodity hardware
OpenStack’s modular architecture provides choice in vendor,
giving organizations the flexibility to swap out hardware and
components without altering how the platform is accessed or
managed
