ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
GET INVOLVED
A series of career services workshops that address issues that have been
identified as of interest to women and that are lacking in current programming.
These workshops will be planned in collaboration with the Women in
Engineering Center and will be presented by an industry engineer or recruiter.
Student Services Seminar Series
A Dean’s Certificate students may present on resumes and during interviews
that proves they have studied and engaged in discussions on multicultural is-
sues. This certificate will serve as proof to potential employers that the student
has the skills necessary to work in a multicultural and global company.
Cross-Cultural Professional Development Certificate
A group of either Alumni or industry leaders who discuss issues that are
pertinent to the mission of the Women in Engineering Center. The group will
also advise the program coordinator and offer their engagement with the
Women in Engineering Center.
Alumni/Industry Advisory Board
A night at the end of the year to celebrate women, particularly freshmen, on the
completion of their first year. Upperclasswomen will be invited as well as some
staff, faculty and alumni. Dinner will be served and a speaker will be chosen from
a list of recommended alumni engineers.
Women in Engineering Night
The Women in Engineering Center will plan an outreach event in the style of
a “leadership conference” for middle school aged girls. This will be for any
girl interested in any STEM field and will consist of workshops and a keynote
speaker.
Middle School Leadership Conference
A speaker series offered by the Women in Engineering Center once every two
months that will focus on topics related to diversity in engineering. The school’s
diversity committees, including NSBE, SHPE, SWE, AOE advisors) will plan
arrange speakers for the series.
