This document discusses the impact of social media on the propagation of Buddhism. It finds that social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, blogs, Flickr, and Twitter are being used successfully to promote Buddhism globally in a simple and accessible way. While social media provides definitions and illustrations and easy access to Buddhist information, issues like lack of English skills and ICT knowledge can be barriers. The document suggests introducing e-Buddhism and social media education into higher Buddhist studies to further propagation efforts.
