The MBDA Global Business Center (GBC) through its
team of international business consultants assists high-
performance businesses whose owners belong to minority
groups (African Americans, Hispanic, Asian, Native
American, etc.) to market their products and / or services
in México and Latin America via exports, joint ventures or
foreign direct investment.
The Center is funded by the Minority Business
Development Agency (MBDA) of the Department of
Commerce of the United States, operated by the Institute
Economic Development, of UTSA and is part of a network
of more than 40 centers nationwide attending minority-
owned business in all regions of the United States, our
goal is to link American
entrepreneurs and foreigners
businesses seeking jobs
creation in both regions.
The GBC evaluates and
determines the company
readiness to expand its
operations internationally and
ascertain its ability to export a
particular product or service,
produces market intelligence reports, advises on cultural
and business etiquette, client detection and identifies
opportunities in international markets best suited for that
particular product or service, including financial sources
and logistics.
This is achieved through the development and
maintenance of an extensive network of support services
built upon collaboration and global expertise required
to ensure that U.S. companies continue to effectively
enter new markets, strengthen their competitive edge and
increase the rate of success rate in its expansion abroad.
The GBC is oriented towards the “Look South” initiative
to primarily serve the markets of Mexico and Latin
America, which represents an important opportunity for
local entrepreneurs to reach out to American medium and
large companies with products and services for potential
distribution, joint ventures or investment.
