3. Scott Harrison goals/mission
• Scott Harrison is a former club promoter who is the
founder and current CEO of the non-profit charity: water.
• His mission was to help tackle health issues for the poor
people of West Africa who can't afford clean drinking
water.
• This inability to drink clean water led to many of these
poor people sick and eventually die due to poor sanitation
• His mission was to provide clean drinking water and help
reduce the number of fatalities regarding unclean drinking
water

4. How and what did he do to get it
• With the mission fixed in his mind, he decided to make a
difference in their lives by creating an organisation known
as Charity: Water after leaving Mercy Ships.
• He founded Charity: Water, a non-profit organisation, and
planned to bring clean water to the poor.
• An estimated of 100 million people will be receiving this
clean drinking water by 2030.

5. What were some limitations/challenges he faced
• He faced some challenges regarding helping these
people as the areas they live in is highly prone to
conflict/dispute.
• As such this constantly put them in danger zones.
• He also faced some challenges regarding communicating
with these people as they are poor, uneducated, thus they
may feel threatened and result in disagreements.
• These areas are also quite inaccessible due to their
strange locations they are living in. As such it is quite hard
digging a well for them or bring clean water to them.

6. How did he overcome them
• His motivation of helping the poor obtain clean drinking
water was the main thing that kept him going. He never
gave up, persisted through thick and thin.
• He obtain donations from some people/ company and
they would willingly donate a sum of their money to help
out those in need more than they do.
• With these funds, he was able to dig up more wells and
provide clean drinking water to thse people.

7. What were the successes after achieving his goals
• Firstly, he achieved his main goal which was to provide
clean drinking water to the poor people who cant afford it.
His estimated number of people that will be receiving this
is about 100 million by 2030.
• Secondly, Charity: Water became more well-knowned as
a fundraising organisation to provide clean water to poor
people. As such, more and more people will donate to
them and help out. This allows Scott to carry out more of
his projects to help out the people.

8. Group reflection
• Overall , through discovering more about Scott Harrison
ans his journey to help others, we learnt that it is very
important to do charity, especially those that can help out
others/ benefit others in a big way. We were pretty
shocked to know that one man can make such a
difference in more than 1 million people. So, lets all make
a change in our lifestyle by doing more for our society by
creating a wonderful place for all to live. We can start
small by doing simple acts of kindness like volunteering to
go to old folk's homes or help clean the parks/beaches,
making the world cleaner and overall a better place for all.

9. Personal reflections
• Zong Ngee: I have learnt that Scott Harrison has spent
his entire life savings to help the poor by helping Africa
provide clean water. I learnt that we should help others as
much as possible as it makes other people's lives feel
happier.
• Sebastian: From the brief history of Scott Harrison I have
learnt that he has taken the risk of his mothers life to
continue with the donations, I have also learnt that the
world does not revolve around us and that one must try
their best to make everyone happier.

10. Personal reflections
• Jasper: I learnt that one can create a huge impact to a
community so long as you try and through little acts of
kindness will the community become a more suitable
place to live.
• Ying Wen:I learnt that we should always try our best to
help others in need. We may not do much, but with our
kind heart, others including ourselves can benefit a lot
from the kind action

11. Personal reflections
• Yuan Yu: I can learn that he is a selfless person. As he
found out that diseases are causes of unclean water, he
took the initiative to troubleshoot this issues. He is smart
too by charging his friends to raise fund to improve the
water quality and the water supply facilities. He wanted to
allow people to get clean water for consumption, not for
himself but instead to the majority of the society.
