• Originally established in 1950 as Methodist International House, located in Bayswater
London and other UK sites
• Moved to Euston House in 1998, renamed Methodist International Centre and adopted
self funding sustainable ethos
• Rebranding to TheWesley in May 2013 to reflect our pride in our Christian & Methodist
heritage, combined with our forward thinking business approach
• The first social enterprise hotel in the UK awarded Social Enterprise Mark as well as other

9. Ethical aspects to look at when choosing the supplier:
Employment practices – supplier should preferably show strive to promote internally and to help grow in-
house talents
Sourcing (relates to all) – the supplier must show credible information about the products source, things
to look at:
Food- animal welfare, genetically modified food is prohibited and ready to eat meals
Wood & Paper – recycled products, controlled forests
Chemical – impact of the chemical on the environment, eco label is a must
Charity work – supplier must show commitment to the charitable organisations, just simple small
philanthropic donations or promise of 5% donations from the profits is not a practice to be considered
ethical
Traceability (especially for food) – the supplier must be able to give information where the food
originated and have a valid logs of their products
Perform regular premises and farm visits in order to ascertain and regulate compliance with our criteria
