2. Experience Details
14 years of experience in Oil and Gas Refinery (from 10/06/2003 till date) and 4 years in
Chemical industry (from 21/09/1998 to 02/06/2003) with DCS exposure.
Present Assignment
Working as a “REFINERY OPERATOR” in Abu Dhabi Nation Oil Company (Takreer) and
worked in Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (a group company of Indian Oil Corporation
Limited, IOC). Commissioning and working experince in Base oil unit (Lube oil) NHT/ ISOM
(Naphtha Hydro Treating / Isomerisation of aromatic free gasoline giving Octane No. 90), DHDT
(Diesel Hydro Deep Treating), HGU (Hydrogen Generation Unit). Following jobs were done in
the commissioning plants: Formats preparing, check lists using P&ID, pipe line commissioning,
flashing, drying, chemical cleaning of equipments, leak test, pressure test, vacuum test, trial
running of pumps, compressors, drying of heaters.
Plant working experience includes: Kerosene Hydrotreating unit (ATF, JP5 & SK. These are
the products run in this plant) Naphtha Hydro Treating and catalytic reforming (High octane
gasoline in presence of fixed bed Platinum catalyst), Diesel Hydro Desulphurization (DHDS.
In this unit Sulfur in diesel is reduced to 5 ppm level). Lube oil Hydro Finishing unit (removal
of Sulfur, Nitrogen, Oxygen and other impurities and improving the colour of the product), Food
Grade Hexane unit, Biturox unit, Sulfur Recovery Plant (SRU). & VDU(Crude Distillation
Unit & Vacuum Distillation Unit)

4. Operation Experience
In sulfur and hydrogen treating blocks the following operations were carried out.
1. Forced draft and balance draft furnace handled both oil and gas burners
2. Catalyst regeneration operation in hydro treating catalyst .
3. Reciprocating double & single stage compressors.
4. Steam turbine driven centrifugal compressor .
5. Soot blowing operation of the furnace.
6. Exposure to DCS operation (YOKOGAWA CS 3000, Japan and Tata Honey Well).
7. Having ISO 9002, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 from BVQI knowledge.
In Shif responsible for:
1 Monitoring and controlling of process parameters and conditions.
2 Stabilizing the plant during emergencies.
3 Startups and shutdowns of the plant safely.
4 Maintaining safety and house keeping in the work area.
5 Handing over and taking back of the equipments safely from maintenance
6 Generating and Issuing HOT and COLD work permits for the concerned job.
7 Preparing and updating the unit’s operating manuals.

1 Worked as a safety committee member in the departmental safety committee at CPCL.
