1. Location
For our performance shots we have decided
to use the studio setting. This has been used
in many music video’s of our genre like Miley
Cyrus’- ‘ Seven things I hate about you’ music
video. The whole music video is set in a studio
and consist mainly of performance shots (mid-
shots and close-ups). We will also use hard
lighting to create shadows, following the
conventions of our genre.

2. Location
For our third location we will be using a bedroom. In a lot of country-pop music video’s show
their home and especially when appealing to a young audience they will connect to the
viewer on a more personal level. This enables the artist to relate to what the target audience
is interested in. By having similar interests this means the audience will feel more connected;
creating a ‘dominate reading’ in relation to cultural theorist, Stuart Hall.
The bedroom will be relatively ‘girly’ and hold objects that the audience might have
themselves. We can film more personal/ intimate parts of the narrative here to make the
audience feel like they are a part of the artists life (having a synthetic relationship).
