BACKGROUND
Current:
I have been appointed as the General Manager for Sompena Trading for the last 2
years.
Sompena Trading are a Civil Enginering & Construction Company that supply and
install HDPE pipes for private clients and the main client are Harmony Gold Mines in the
Welkom Free State area. I were appointed as Project Manager for various projects
over a period of 2 years in and around the area namely the Upgrading of
Cemeteries in Virgina Matjhabeng Municipality and Theunissen Masilonyana
Municipality and the Free State Bucket Eradication Project in Kutlwanong
Odendaalsrus Free State. On top of this we did all the building, sewer line
maintenance of Harmony Gold. I believe I were a integrate part in the growth of the
Company for the previous 2 years and that the life experiences and expertise I gained
over the years will enable me to further my career in your company.
Previously:
Possessing 15 years of service in the South African Police Service combined with a more
recent experience in the private security sector, I evolved into a self confident,
reliable and dependable team player. I am a reliable and responsible team
member able to recognize and manage dangerous situations whilst under extreme
pressure and in hostile environments.
I started my career in the South African Police Service in 1992 and left in 2007 to enter
the private sector. In the SAPS, I worked at the Flying Squad where he attended all high
priority complaints, such as Armed Robbery, theft of motor vehicles etc. Later on I
worked as detective in the SAPS and investigated all cases. Later in my career I became
a Class 1V Police diver and in 2006 he was awarded the SAPS Bravery Award for

2. saving a colleague while drowning. I performed some of my diving duties on the Vaal,
Bloemhof dam, at sea etc.
After leaving the SAPS I did a plumbing course and did freelance plumbing. I worked
for Free State Petroleum Distributors as the Administration Manager and Call
Centre Manager.
I worked for Booyco Electronics as a Sales Representative who is an International
electronic safety equipment Manufacturer and developer in the Mining Industry.
I then joined a Private Security Company as security officer. At this company he did
farm security on 80 farms in the district, maintaining a safe environment and
investigations of complaints to all the relative clients.
I worked on a contract for OGM International based in Cape Town and Switzerland as
Maritime Security Advisor in the Mozambique Channel on a Gas Drilling Vessel from
Anadarko.
