and thoughts on best legal practices. The event will also cover appropriate oil spill responses, a case study on an oil spill clean-
up operation in Malaysia, involving bunker oil. Other areas include preventive measures, elements of preparedness, legislation &
regulation, contingency planning, oil spill response equipment and the emerging challenges in oil spill preparedness and response.

Capt. Amir Murad
Capt. Amir Murad is the General Manager of Petroleum
Industry of Malaysia Mutual Aid Group (PIMMAG) and is
responsible for the overall management and development.
He is responsible directly to the PIMMAG Board of Directors.
Prior to joining PIMMAG, he was the Manager of Planning &
Business Development of PETRONAS Maritime Services Sdn. Bhd. Capt.
Amir Murad is a Master Mariner (Aust.) by profession and academically he
holds a Master Marine Affairs, University of Rhode Island, USA. He also
possesses a Diploma In Occupational Health & Safety Management (Aust.)
and Diploma In International Port Planning & Management (USA).

James David
With more than 20 years experience in this area of practise he
primarily acts on behalf of shipowners, charterers, commodity
traders and freight forwarders including instructions from P&I,
FD&D, marine cargo, hull and liability insurers. His experience
extends to off-shore marine related work and is instructed by oil
field operators & contractors and their insurers. His breadth of experience
includes casualties and collisions, salvage, general average, bills of lading,
charterparty and other disputes involving carriage by sea and offshore
operations.
