My name is ChristopherZablan,andI am writingonbehalf of one of myemployees,JackFisher. Iam
the Store Manager of the ClintonCrossingPremiumOutlets,Zumiez. Ihave beenworkingforthis
companyfor 3 years andhave workedmyway to thispositionfromthe startingpointof a sales
associate,whichisJack'scurrent position.I've beenastore managersince Octoberof 2014, and have
had the pleasure of havingJackonmy teamfor itsentirety.He isone of the mostkind,passionate,and
dedicatedpeople Ihave come acrossin myline of work.The situationof the store whenI hadtakenover
inClintonwasverytroublesome.Ihadcome from the WaterburyZumieztocome and repairthe
damagesthat a past store managerhad made. Jack playedatremendouspartinaidingmymissionto
turn the Clintonstore froma "store of concern" inour district,toit reachingitsall time highand
finishingourholidayseasonatthe topof the Connecticutdistrict.
Jack's involvementwassucha crucial part of turningthat store to a positive.He demonstratedthe
qualitiesof hisposition(salesassociate) toitutmost.The jobdescriptionisasfollows:tosell and
maintainourstore and to provide the bestcustomerservice,one greatexperience ata time. Iknowthis
may soundvague,butour joband involvementinourcustomer’slivesishow we profitedsoheavily
fromthe holidayseason.Certainqualitiesthatwe lookforinemployeeevaluationsisthatthey
demonstrate salesaggressiveness,commitmenttoourstore/company,competitivenessbetweenother
employeestodrive afunenvironment,andfinallytoshow anenergeticpersonalityatall timestobe
readyfor anythingthisjob maythrowat you.Atthe beginningof mystayinClinton,Jackwasalready
demonstratingall of these qualitiesandIwill explainhow.Rightfromthe getgoJack had explainedto
me that where hisstore wassittinginour districthadlefthimwithan unsettlingfeelingof
discouragement. He neededproperleadershipinordertomove forwardinourcompanyand more so in
hislife. Iexplainedthatif youfollowthe toolsinwhichI give you,youwill prosperandmove forwardin
thiscompanyor anywhere else you desire.He haschosenyourplace of employmentto follow through
withthe toolsI have givenhimandI couldn'tbe more proud.His salesaggressivenesshadimproved
heavilywithinthe firstweekof mystay,helpingcustomersandofferingthe best productknowledge
makingsure everyone wasalwayssmilingandhavinganamazingtime. People lovetoworkwithJack.
The bestpart abouthimis thathe's notafraidto ask a questionif he doesn'tunderstandsomething.His
willingnesstolearnissucha positive forhimandwiththathe doeslearnratherquickly. Jack's
commitmenttoourstore/companywasunmatched - he alwaysshowedup15 minutesearlyforevery
shift, smilingandreadyforthe day! He alsowasavailable tocoverany shiftthatwas neededandwould
nevergive ahard time aboutit. If I neededhimtocome inand covera shift or we neededextra
coverage,Jackwas mygo to guy. Hisstore vibe andcompetitivenessbroughtanentirelydifferent
atmosphere toourstore.He isalwayshappyand motivatingotherstowantto do well forthemselves.I
had explainedtohimthatI had a 2nd assistantmanagerpositionavailable andthat'swhathe was
prospectingfor,sohe took itintohisown handsto gethiscriteriato studyand act as a 2nd assistant
managerpriorto me givinghimthe position.Sointurn,he wasteachingothershow to sell usingour
companytoolsand motivatingthembyleadingbyexampleonthe salesfloorandidentifyingpositives
and opportunitiesintheirsalespitchesforfuture customerssoouremployees couldlearnfromtheir
mistakes.AndfinallyJack'senergywasunmatchedbyanyotheremployee I have seeninthiscompany,
runningaroundthe store from customertocustomerjusttryingto insure the bestcustomerservice
possible. He washonestlysuch a large assetto my teamthat I don'tthinkwe couldhave done as
successfullythroughoutthe holidayseasonwithouthim.
