This arose from my thinking whilst preparing and researching for my Masters degree. I think it has great relevance to the modern day challenges of leaders!
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how leaders can become more resilient in the current climate of austerity and a conclusion I drew was the real need for people to empower themselves and others. This took me back to the research I did for my Masters thesis in 1996, which was fashioned very strongly on existing empowerment theory as it then pertained to the development of leaders and managers. Of course the theory has moved on since but this slide grew out of my thinking at that time … and I believe it still has great resonance now!
