ROLE IN MY DOCUMENTARY, I WAS ORIGINALLY CONCERNED ON WHOM WOULD
FIT THIS POSITION THE BEST. THEREFORE DURING MY PLANNING FOR THE
DOCUMENTARY I WAS DEFINITELY CONSIDER EVERY ONE OF MY OPTIONS. THE
HEAD TEACHER ROLE IN MY DOCUMENTARY WAS APPOINTED TO MISS MORGAN
DUE TO HER SINCERE PASSION FOR THE SCHOOL. AFTER WORKING AT THE
SCHOOL FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS SHE MOSTLY ENJOYS CARDINAL NEWMAN AND
WAS VERY HAPPY TO CONTRIBUTE HER FEELINGS IN MY SHORT DOCUMENTARY. I
DESCRIBED THE HEAD TEACHER'S ROLE IN THE DOCUMENTARY, FOR EXAMPLE THE
QUESTIONS I HAD PREPARED FOR OUR INTERVIEW WERE ABSOLUTELY
APPROPRIATE FOR THE HEAD TEACHER ALONE TO PROVIDE ANSWERS TO.
ENSURING HER CONFIDENCE WITH THE INTERVIEW, THERE WAS NO REASONS FOR
ME TO NOT OFFER HER THE ROLE.
3. SIXTH FORM STUDENT- ERIN MCKEE
THE IMAGE TO THE RIGHT SHOWS A PHOTO OF ONE OF MY MAIN
STUDENT APPEARANCES OF MY DOCUMENTARY. ERIN MCKEE WAS
WILLING TO HELP ME IN PRODUCING MY SHORT DOCUMENTARY,
AND HER ATTITUDE ABOVE ANYTHING ELSE STOOD OUT. ERIN (AS
STATED IN THE DOCUMENTARY) HAS EXPERIENCE THE UPS AND
DOWNS OF CARDINAL NEWMAN OVER THE PAST 7 YEARS.
THEREFORE SHE APPEARED TO ME AS THE PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR
THE ROLE, CURRENTLY STUDYING AT SIXTH FORM HERSELF, THE
WORDS SPOKEN BY HER WILL BE BASED ON NOTHING BUT PURE
HONESTY. THIS ADDS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF REALISM WHICH
EVERY DOCUMENTARY MUST VITALLY DELIVER.
4. TEACHER- MRS ROBBINS
• A TEACHER THAT HAPPILY AGREED TO AIDING ME IN MY
DOCUMENTARY BY CONTRIBUTING TO MY DOCUMENTARY
FOOTAGE. MY REASONING FOR ASKING MRS ROBBIN’S TO DO AN
INTERVIEW IN MY DOCUMENTARY IS DUE TO HER SERIOUS
PASSION FOR THE SCHOOL IN BOTH POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES AND
NEGATIVE MANNERS.
5. YR 10 STUDENTS
INITIALLY WHEN ASKING THIS HAND FULL OF YEAR 10 STUDENTS TO DO AN INTERVIEW, I WAS GOING TO PROCEED
SEPARATELY AND INDIVIDUALLY WITH EACH PARTICIPANT. HOWEVER THIS WOULD BE TIME CONSUMING AND MEAN ME
HAVING TO FIND OTHER LOCATIONS FOR MY INTERVIEWS. ALSO, THEIR OPINIONS ON THE SCHOOL WERE EXPRESSED IN
MORE CONFIDENCE WHEN TOGETHER THIS TECHNIQUE ALSO ALLOWS THE AUDIENCE TO WITNESS THAT THE HANDFUL
OF RANDOM STUDENTS FORM THE SCHOOL ALL AGREE ON THE NEGATIVE ELEMENTS OF NEWMAN.
MY MAIN REASONING FOR CHOOSING THESE FOUR ENTHUSIASTIC INDUVIAL’S FOR MY DOCUMENTARY, SIMILAR TO THE
TEACHER’S INTERVIEW, THEY APPEARED HIGHLY PASSIONATE TOWARDS THEIR TIME AT NEWMAN. WHAT BETTER WAY
FOR FRAMING THEIR HONEST OPINIONS THAN INTERVIEWS.
6. TEACHING ASSISTANT- MR WARD
DURING MY RESEARCH, I WAS NOT GOING TO INCLUDE AN
INTERVIEW BETWEEN MYSELF AND A TEACHING ASSISTANT
WHOM WORKS AT THE SCHOOL. ACCORDING TO THE
DOCUMENTARIES THAT I WATCHED AND TOOK AN INTEREST
IN, DID NOT OFTEN PRESENT A TEACHING ASSISTANT
(ESPECIALLY IN AN INTERVIEW SCENARIO).
