1. MH Europe - 06/21/16 1/2
EUROPEAN FUNCTIONAL EXPERT ROLE
MH EUROPE
-
Feedback from Julien de Muizon – MH Europe Business Process Manager
Name: Isabelle Crozat-Meyer
Role: Senior Controller
European Functional Expert – Finance & Controlling
Location: Munich / MH Deutschland
Context:
Following a review of all applications used in Cocktail environment in February / March 2008 MH Europe has raised two
main conclusions:
- Need to define a real training strategy for MH DisCo’s
- Define an efficient governance to be sure all market needs and proposal are properly addressed.
As a consequence an action plan has been set up at MH Europe level to establish a new governance model. To be
efficient this new governance model must be simple and operational (driven by the users from the markets).
In order to properly and timely address all the requirements from the Markets, a key element is to make the link between
the users and MH Europe. This is the role of the Functional experts.
=> A communication was made to all Managing Directors and CFO on September, 18th 2008.
MISSION STATEMENT
Functional Expert role & responsibilities:
1.A unique point of contact within Europe to share best practices: should a user have a question on a report or a
new functionality, the FE is the first contact,
2.A support to apply the training strategy within Europe (identify training needs, participate to the training support
elaboration, eventually train other European users),
3.A “collector” within the European community to highlight / propose ideas for major projects and make sure they
are properly addressed at MH Europe level.
Estimated additional workload for a European Functional expert: Around 10% of their time is being required to
work efficiently as a European Functional Expert.
MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS
Overview:
The role of FE is becoming more and more important and is now recognized at MH level. After two years, a feedback has
been ask to the 4 FE’s in Europe about their role and what we could improve:
- Harmonization of the processes across Europe is critical
- Sharing of good practices
- Building strong experts communities in Europe is very important to improve our system usage
2. MH Europe - 06/21/16 2/2
As Finance & Controlling Functional Expert for Europe, Isabelle worked on the following area:
Objective: improve the efficiency of the existing systems
1. Summarize and prioritize all the requests addressed by the markets which could be included in the next
Version release,
Starting with the Version #3 in June 2009, Isabelle has been very helpful to better understand and prioritize all
requests coming from the markets. This review is critical to ensure all requests are relevant and the Version
budget is well allocated.
Objective: optimize the use of the existing IT systems:
2. Improve training documentation and training support with business rules. An action plan has already
been launched with MHIS Change management team to set up an efficient training strategy.
3. Organise training session on the most important topics
Isabelle worked closely to MHIS Change Management team to review, complete and improve the IDDOL
documentation related to Finance & Controlling, Reporting and A&P/FTT management areas.
The input from Isabelle was critical to ensure this documentation is practical and useful for all other Controllers in
Europe
The first European training plan for Cocktail users was initiated in Europe in 2009. In that context, with the
support of the Regional Business Trainer, Isabelle has built and animated 3 training sessions (Controlling,
Closing and A&P/FTT management). These training session were highly appreciated by the users in the
markets, a plan for 2010 is already in progress.
Recently Isabelle worked again with the MHIS Change Management team to validate the “Induction Plan”
documentation. The Induction Plan aims to define what are the critical steps to help a new comer be efficient and
autonomous while using Cocktail solutions (SAP and COGNOS)
Overall:
The Functional Expert role is now recognized as critical to ensure MH Europe optimize the use of its IT systems. Since
the beginning Isabelle was a strong support and a key player of the Functional Expert community in Europe.
