21. ““Post-pandemic wise, now it’s the time to re-think critically and act proactively
through this “hybrid economy” digital knowledge model and explore new media literacy
challenges. Through my nearly 20 years engagement with MIL, and through UNESCO
Media & Information Literacy Alliance, the pointiest challenge has always been
reaching, like “concentric circles”, a Media & Information Literacy consensus for all
aspects of our digital-oriented life. We are getting faster and better than the we
thought, and we have to thank UNESCO’s, over 40 years of impactful work on that. “
Multi- tasking group helping to ensure its sustainability at national, regional, and international levels.

Webinar thematics offer an evidence – based approach on the current trends and challenges in the Med area set mainly during the pandemic.
The coronavirus pandemic has given rise to an ongoing surge in media consumption, as people around the world seek to remain updated on the rapidly changing crisis.
As in the majority of the countries, most cases of information distortion are being spotted online, mainly through social media.
Flip Classroom: used to empower students and offer new creative curriculum outlets, apart from traditional reading and writing, new extended digital alphabet with media in the epicenter (video, films, archives, podcasts, web)
In times of crisis we need a calibrated response.
According to UNESCO MIL Clicks, the desire to believe can outweigh the desire to be informed, and this is our main challenge for post-pandemic era, to fight the ephemeral nature of news worldwide through media literacy mechanisms and to realize that we live in “consciousness societies” that media play the most prominent role.
In this context, EKOME acted proactively and in the occasion of 2020 Global MIL Week, launched EKOME MIL Webinar Series, a new information and educational initiative
