Achieved this by taking a structured approach – following the proven WHO M-Power model – whole of society – using a variety of tools and methods including legislation, public awareness, strong focus on de-normalising tobacco use, cross-sectoral actions…for example the smoking in cars legislation led by the Department of Children & Youth Affairs
Pre-school children are exposed to over 1,000 ads for unhealthy foods each year – almost 1/5 of childrens daily calories and fat intake comes from biscuits, snacks and confectionary.
