  3. 3. Windows Server 2003 R2 End-of-Life Windows Server 2003 support will end on July 14th, 2015. What does end of support mean for you? After July 14th, Microsoft will no longer issue security updates for any version of Windows Server 2003. If you are still running Windows Server 2003 in your data centre, you need to take steps now to plan and execute a migration strategy to protect your infrastructure and to ensure you remain compliant with business regulations. Windows Server 2012 R2 is the recommended replacement operating system for long-term support and development. By migrating to Windows Server virtual machines running in Virtual Data Centre, Interoute’s IaaS cloud platform, you can achieve concrete benefits, including improved performance, reduced maintenance requirements, private networking of your VMs, and increased agility and speed of response for your business.

  5. 5. North America Europe Asia 3 Zones 11 Zones 2 Zones A network of zones that meets European Union and other legal requirements for data residency. A global private network of compute resources What is Interoute VDC? (Network and Zone information correct at 14/5/2015)
  6. 6. Generic cloud networking SDN and other technologies provide a pseudo-private environment; in reality it is just tunneling over the insecure, non-guaranteed Internet. Between zones there is no guarantee, SLA or security. Database Webservers Firewall The Internet Database Webservers Firewall Database Webservers Firewall No SLA No Consistency No Security At risk security Routed via the Internet Public by Default Colo Cloud DC1 Cloud DC 2
  7. 7. Dedicated private network Your cloud environment is totally private, only connecting what is needed to the Internet. Backend servers remain entirely private. Data movement over the private network is free of cost. 8. 8. Multiple infrastructure options: Providing huge flexibility Interoute Virtual Data Centre differentiates by offering an alternative for building infrastructure without compromising security, availability, speed or control • IaaS shared infrastructure: Providing full compute power for all general computing requirements, with no contended RAM • Dedicated blades: To provide full CPU performance and work within licensing requirements • Colocation: For all non-‘cloud ready’ servers or assets that are still depreciating All standard compute requirements Dedicated performance Non-virtualised servers (e.g. AS400) Dedicated private network
  9. 9. VDC Connect: Connect to Interoute VDC for free* Hybrid cloud, but private Extend your existing infrastructure into Interoute VDC in over 300 locations in Europe using private, high bandwidth, low latency circuits - enabling you to build a hybrid cloud of existing infrastructure and cloud IaaS without traversing the Internet. *With any VDC Committed Service package, we provide our 1Gbps port for free, you just need to cross-connect to it.
  10. 10. Dedicated private network The Internet Your existing infrastructure Integrated IaaS: Network-based compute Not only does Interoute VDC come with its own free global connectivity it also seamlessly integrates with your existing environments with free 1Gb/s interconnects. • Complete digital Integration: By integrating your existing network with VDC your cloud is immediately private by default • Public/Private/Hybrid: All are possible with one integrated platform • Totally secure: No need for any services to touch the Internet that don’t require it • Guaranteed performance: Uncontended network from VDC data centre to your own network estate • Provider flexibility: Move from or integrate with any IaaS, cloud or network vendor with ease • No hidden charges: We don’t charge for any network or IOPS Database Webservers Firewall Database Webservers Firewall DC1 DC2 IaaS WAN Hosted
  11. 11. Location, Location, Location = Low Latency, High Throughput This means: more web requests per server instance therefore fewer servers so less money Or higher throughput so you get more for the same money High availability as standard – disaster AVERSION NOT RECOVERY Infrastructure integration is faster and cheaper to achieve Data centre location is critical for the overall performance of your infrastructure. If your business is in Italy or Spain, for example, moving data back and forth to Ireland or the Netherlands introduces significant latency to all of your operations. Interoute VDC has an unrivalled distribution of data centres across Europe, located in key business cities. All are inter-connected by Interoute’s own private and fast optic fibre network. Data centre locations in Europe (Information correct at 14/5/2015) Amazon Web Services: Dublin, Frankfurt Rackspace: London, Crawley Azure: Dublin, Amsterdam Interoute VDC: London 1, London 2, Slough, Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Zurich
  12. 12. Interoute VDC removes the complexity of multi-site High Availability setups, making development simple and easy • No IP addressing headaches • No routing needs to be setup by the customer • No complex security is required – networks are private • Performance is optimal due to huge bandwidth and low latency • No charges for bandwidth 1 Illustration: 9 node MongoDB cluster across three locations (LA, Slough, Berlin), automatically picking up the network routing based on Interoute’s private MPLS VPN One global private network VDC makes application development simple and fast
  13. 13. New VDC Service Tiers simplify your operations Monitor Maintain Support Implementation Training Assistance Implementation & Operation Tools Help Support VDC Selfcare VDCAssist VDCManaged
  14. 14. Total flexibility • Pay only for RAM, CPU & storage • No fixed virtual machine instances – you choose the RAM and CPU for each virtual machine • Charges based on total compute resource • Global flat rate pricing – every zone has the same pricing • No network or IOPS charges – totally predictable Competitive pricing structure • Utility (pay-as-you-go) for flexible compute requirements • Discounts for higher monthly spend • Enhanced discounts for longer-term committed infrastructure Simple pricing structure Commit Term (months) 0 6 12 18 24 30 36 MRC Spend 0-5k 0 5% 10% (Details on Application) 5-10k 2% 7% 12% 10-15k 4% 9% 14% 15-50k 6% 11% 16%
  15. 15. Summary • On demand, massively scalable, fundamentally secure, high performance IaaS cloud • Private by Default–connected to your own private global backbone • Location specific – working with local laws and creating latency difference • Global scale with free, unlimited network access • Public/Private/Hybrid & managed or self service – True multimodal cloud
