THE MODULAR PLC
PROGRAMMING
PRESENT:
INTRODUCTION
Machines simple or
complex are made by
actuators, motors,
cylinders... and the
assembling of all these
equipments make a
machine.
HOW MACHINE OPERATE
Normally machine are made by assembling of
several parts in a logic process and all the
movements are controlled by plc (Programmable
Logic Controller) which is responsible of all
automation movement in the machine
WHAT IS PLC
A Programmable
Logic Controller, or
PLC, is more or less a
small computer with a
built-in operating
system (OS). This OS
is highly specialized to
handle incoming
events in real time, i.e.
at the time of their
occurrence.
AUTOMATION
An automaton or sequential machine is a discrete and
usually finite system that proceeds sequentially from an
initial state to a final discrete state upon changing its
inputs, and that also produces an output at each step
determined by the input and the internal state of the
automaton. An automaton thus defined has a state space
which is a finite semigroup or monoid, and that can be
decomposed into certain types of modules or parts in a
canonical manner. Two functions or maps usually
determine mathematically the functioning of the
automaton: the transition function from one state to the
next, and the output function that maps an input and a
specific state to a specific output of the automaton.
MISSION
Our target is divide all kind of machines in
multiblocks which can be programmed in user
friendly way without having programming
knowledge with result of reducing installation and
maintenance cost.
The standardization of processes will enable to select
parts of plant and put them in the sequence of
machine like composition
APPLICATION
Our system can be used in all automatized machine
and based on the customers requirement we can
apply the software blocks easily programmable by
installator by using the Hmi present in machine
What is Hmi
A human–machine
interface or HMI is the
apparatus which
presents process data
to a human operator,
and through which the
human operator
controls the process.
COMPATIBILITY
Our system run based
on IEC 61131-3 which is
the programming
standard system for Plcs
and this guarantee the
interchange with
different suppliers of
Plcs.
IEC 61131-3
 IEC 61131-3 is the third part (of 8) of the open international standard
IEC 61131 for programmable logic controllers, and was first published
in December 1993 by the IEC. The current (second) edition was
published in 2003.
 Part 3 of IEC 61131 deals with programming languages and defines two
graphical and two textual PLC programming language standards:
 • Ladder diagram (LD), graphical
 • Function block diagram (FBD), graphical
 • Structured text (ST), textual
 • Instruction list (IL), textual
 • Sequential function chart (SFC), has elements to organize
programs for sequential and parallel control processing.
IEC STANDARD ADVANTAGES
 Advantages for suppliers of production units (machines)
 Provides more independence towards suppliers at control level
 Provides basis for re use of software across platforms
 Higher flexibility in personnel: not limited to one system only
 Less training required
 Higher efficiency in coding
 High level of re-usability reduces costs and increases confidence
in planning
 Provides tools to specify requirements at higher level
 Better comparison between different offers, esp. software
development
 Provides link to existing personnel
 Usable world wide, over and over again
 Provides a standard communication tool between engineers at
different locations

MACHINES CONTROL LEVELS
 All machines are divided in level of controls:
1. LEVEL 0; this is Plc which normally is placed near the machine and
control all machine movements
2. LEVEL 1; this is Hmi which normally is placed on main console where
operator stay because in this all information regarding operation and
alarms are displayed
3. LEVEL 2: this is Scada which normally is placed in a separate room
where only production responsible are checking it and where all
information regarding machine are stored and saved.
4. LEVEL 3: this is Cim which is normally placed in the main office and
from this all information regarding production of all machines are
checked, stored and organized
Our Intelliproj system work in level 0 and 1, but in we can provide to
control the levels 2 and 3 with our Alberi System.
LEVEL 2: SCADA
HMI is usually linked to the SCADA system's databases and
software programs, to provide trending, diagnostic data,
and management information such as scheduled
maintenance procedures, logistic information, detailed
schematics for a particular sensor or machine, and expert-
system troubleshooting guides.
SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is a type
of industrial control system (ICS). Industrial control
systems are computer controlled systems that monitor and
control industrial processes that exist in the physical world.
SCADA systems historically distinguish themselves from
other ICS systems by being large scale processes that can
include multiple sites, and large distances.
LEVEL 3: CIM
CIM is "computer-integrated manufacturing" and
is a method of manufacturing and the name of a
computer-automated system in which individual
engineering, production, marketing, and support
functions of a manufacturing enterprise are
organized. In a CIM system functional areas such
as design, analysis, planning, purchasing, cost
accounting, inventory control, and distribution are
linked through the computer with factory floor
functions such as materials handling and
management, providing direct control and
monitoring of all the operations.
ALBERI SYSTEM
This is the system which is
caring about Scada and
Cim levels and it is
directly connected to the
level 0 where are all Plc,
with level 1 where are all
Hmi, level 2 where are
Scada and Production pc
and level 3 where is main
Pc with all information
regarding all machines
production and
information.
CONCLUSIONS
We surely can say that none in automation market
give what we propose, so we can say this is a
revolution in programming system and we are
waiting for give our best offer to everyone want
make standardization in plc programming and
optimation of costs.
