2.  Imperial Tomsk University was founded in 1878;
 TSU is the largest classical university in the Asian part of
Russia and the oldest university of Siberia.
 It was included in the State list of the most valuable
objects of cultural heritage of Russian Federation;
 In 2006-2007 TSU implemented the innovative
educational program as one of 17 winners of the first
national Russian competition of innovative universities in
the framework of the priority national project "Education";
 In 2010 it received a status of National Research

13. SPORT ACHIEVEMENTS
TSU athletes represent the university in competitions in 20 sports. Among students - winners of
Russian and European championships, members of the Russian Olympic team, winners of the Olympic
Games.
World renown is gained by the university diving club SKAT, which included world and European
